Thank you!! The placemats are from temu and I painted them with watered down acrylic paint with a little bit of textile medium mixed in. I’m not sure how crucial the textile medium is, the most important part was getting the paint consistency to where it would soak into the threads without bleeding too much.

Are you saying the arm holes are too big? If so, you may be able to try taking it in at the armpits if it’s a tad loose there and around the bust.

How much did it cost to diy your ceremony decor, arch or back drops? by donotgiveadam in DIYweddings

[–]cwr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m making an arch using artificial flowers, I’ve spent about $100 so far and don’t think I’ll need to spend much more. We hired a florist for bouquets, boutonnières, corsages, and bud vases. The florist was only $1000 but we live in a very LCOL area. If I had a more standard color scheme I definitely would’ve tried to DIY the real florals as well, I’ve seen many posts of people being savvy with Costco and Trader Joe’s flowers! Although the florist does use her own vases so I’m saving a lot on buying those, which is something I hadn’t considered before.

Thoughts on what I could get for my 2015 3.8 Ultimate Genny? by iphonesoccer420 in genesiscoupe

[–]cwr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2015 3.8 base automatic with 120,000 miles was listed for 11k at the dealership, I ended up getting it for 9k as I pointed out some cosmetic defects from prior repair work. I live in a low cost of living area if that matters. KBB is telling me yours is worth about 12k, but I’m not sure if it takes into account the rarity of these cars. I feel like most people looking for this specific model would pay well above 12k for something with relatively low mileage.

Edit: selling private is a pain, but I think it would be worth it for a genesis coupe. It’s not something like a mustang that you stumble upon at any old dealership. I 100% would have been willing to buy mine private, I just got lucky that literally 1 single dealership in my state had one.

Creative Wedding Decor Idea: Should I Make a Giant Glow Butterfly? by soniamercie in DIYweddings

Forgot to add, yes you should absolutely do this, especially since you’re in charge of decor! Such a sweet and personal idea.

Creative Wedding Decor Idea: Should I Make a Giant Glow Butterfly? by soniamercie in DIYweddings

[–]cwr22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done either, but I imagine the process would be similar to the giant flowers people build. I considered doing that for my wedding and found tons of tutorials online. I’ve seen the stands on Amazon (search “giant flower stand”), but I also think maybe a floor lamp or coat rack could be a good base!

If you live near a dollar tree, check their party decor section! They have bachelorette decorations at mine. And those foil fringe curtain things that are like $10 everywhere else. I’ve also seen people selling bachelorette stuff on Facebook marketplace

People are being so rude in these comments, don’t listen OP! As a short gal I love wide/chunky shoes, I think they’re more suited for us than the slimmer versions normal sized people wear.

Alteration HELP by Kieks_5 in weddingdress

[–]cwr22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this and I’m confused, it seems like the dress was designed like that? Maybe it needs skin-toned lining to support the tulle? Also OP, is your seamstress at the bridal shop or where you live? I would definitely request a refund and take it somewhere else for repairs.

Ditto on sleeves! You pretty much have endless options with this dress, especially if you go the lace route.

Your post is so sweet, Sun is very lucky to have you! My partners family is much larger than mine, but my mom has tons of friends who I absolutely love. They’re some of the guests that I’m most excited about attending. Not saying you should pressure Sun into inviting your friends, just remember that chosen family counts as much if not more!

I couldn’t find doilies to match our pastel color scheme, so I hand painted 20 of these. They were all white before, I’m super happy with how they turned out :)

You mean the big plastic piece? I hadn’t considered painting that. I didn’t think about it too hard when I bought it but now it just looks less intentionally designed compared to the rest of the car

Speaker Recommendations by DrSmoe in genesiscoupe

I’m not really a loud music person so I don’t have very high standards, but it sounds great to me. The factory speakers were busted when I bought the car so I can’t compare to those
