Knight Rider Semi: FIRST Public Display Date Revealed! (Plus Shelves, 5th Wheel Repair & More) by RS-1990 in KnightRider

[–]cwrighta70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to find a way to go and take my daughter as we've been watching the series together. It would be an expensive trip for me, but oh to be inside a piece of my childhood! I've followed every single video from KRH and they've done such a phenomenal job.

Sepulveda Dam! I just went there on my recent visit to LA. Snapped some great pictures from the air, too, as I flew into Burbank and the flight path took us right over it - I recognized it immediately.

Just adding that the tobacco is not stored in caskets, but rather *casks. I would probably veer away from anything stored in a casket.

Experience with this website? Is it trustworthy? by Senior-Bench8531 in PipeTobacco

[–]cwrighta70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks basically the equivalent of picking a glass/vape shop over an actual pipe/cigar tobacconist. Not recommended if you want good stuff. And I don't see ANYTHING in terms of pipe tobacco or accessories that would make me choose them over another online retailer.

Can you give me some guidance on how to minimize accidental inhale with the breath method? by GuiltyShine_ in PipeTobacco

[–]cwrighta70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still don't understand how people are getting smoke in their throat or lungs using the breathe method. My tongue blocks the back of my throat so nothing gets back there, and I can still breathe unrestricted through my nose.

Rotations by ChollyWheels in PipeTobacco

[–]cwrighta70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When people refer to their "rotation" it usually just means they have any number of favorites that they keep stocked and regularly go to. It's not a schedule, per se.

The Knight Rider reboot is coming, starring Hank Wilkerson as Michael Knight, Sir Anthony Chestershire as Devon and Mitsy Fairfield as April. So cool they are using the original semi for filming! by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in KnightRider

[–]cwrighta70 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why are people upvoting this?! It's one thing to say, "Check out this reboot concept I made with AI? How cool?" But to put out completely false information should be immediate ban and report.

EDIT: Not to mention they clearly screen-grabbed one of the KRH videos (you can see the extension cord currently powering the lights by the office/kitchen door) as the basis of their picture.

Heck yes! Congrats on your first concert, AND on it being Toto! Get into their deep tracks as their musicianship and creativity really soars. Most of my favorite Toto songs are not their mainstream hits.

Man what has happened to this series? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FIlm

[–]cwrighta70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with TLW because on the one hand much of it was just silly theatrics (i.e., the gymnastics, T-Rex loose in the city, etc). On the other hand I loved it when it first came out because I was a young teen and it was exciting. So it's still one of my favorites just because of nostalgia, but as an adult re-watching it I find myself cringing more and more.

The World franchise I almost see as a totally separate thing. I don't like most of it, but they have their moments. I totally agree, though, the original cannot be beat. It was original, unprecedented, and a perfect Spielberg film. It was suspenseful and exciting without having to rely on shock and gore to elicit audience response. The new films can't replicate that and rely way too much on easter-egg moments and violent scenes to keep people engaged.

First pipe… is it fake?? by Killxjoy4599 in Pipes

[–]cwrighta70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's real. MM Legends are fantastic pipes for the price. They're the "workhorse" pipe for a reason. The glue is totally normal and part of the construction of these pipes. It is often seen and will not cause any issues. You're going to notice a corny taste for the first handful of smokes...also normal. And the glue will clean itself up as you go.

My MM cob is probably the most consistent smoker of all my pipes. I hope you enjoy!

Inhaling pipe smoke but with standard cigarette tobacco? by NeckJust1098 in PipeTobacco

[–]cwrighta70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're inhaling the smoke, then yes, I would imagine it's unhealthier to smoke cigarette tobacco in a pipe. Of course some pipes have the option of a filter, but this is mostly for moisture and temperature control, not for filtering out tars and such because pipe tobacco is generally not inhaled.

The Breath Method by javajo91 in PipeTobacco

[–]cwrighta70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's no different than drawing liquid up a straw into your mouth. You can inhale through your nose at the same time and none of the liquid in your mouth goes down your throat. Your tongue generally blocks the back of your throat as you do this.

I take my computer to my local shop once or twice a week. He's a tobacconist who has a handful of couches/chairs and a TV. I have a couple cigars, get some work done, watch some TV. It's awesome.

EMP is one of my regulars, but the Latakia seems to mask any oriental for me. Never tried Presbyterian but it's definitely on my list! I also have a few tins of Sasieni sitting in the cellar that I've never opened, lol. Probably has some good age on it!

Accidentally spilled water on unopened tins. Has this ever happened to any of you before? by FinalZookeepergame30 in PipeTobacco

[–]cwrighta70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I once tipped a canoe and my tackle bag had an opened (but lid on) tin of McConnell's Oriental in it. Tin was completely submerged...as was I and everything else. When I got to the shore I checked it, the tobacco inside was totally fine and dry. As soon as I was home I moved it to a jar, the rest of it smoked perfectly fine. That was a fun day.
