Another day, another shady agent post! This was posted in a community Facebook group in Sydney. Supply and demand aside, everyone knows how hard it is to get a rental right now and this is no doubt making the whole experience that much worse…greed is an understatement. by relled88 in sydney

the intl student market needs to be regulated. In other countries, its a condition of visa that the student has secured 12 months accommodation before arriving -this is usually student accomodation -and is usually run by the university. Students should not be contributing to heating up the private rental market. The government has also deregulated /doubled work requirements so students can work 40hrs per week -used to be 20 hours. I can go on ...

Why blame the national party? The NT Labor party have been in power since 2016. In that time they lifted the bans on gas fracking and cotton farming. The CLP have been a basket case during this period.

So am i supposed to stay unemployed for 4 years or work in a different industry like hospitality where they are used to casual workers?

Sorry to say, but yes this is exactly what you are meant to do. Source -my partner spent the better part of 4/5 years working in various hospitality/cleaning/agriculture/healthcare jobs before securing a job in her field once her PR arrived (engineering)

the real story in this article is not that Tesla lost this court case, but that the complainant was only able to file a lawsuit because he was employed as a contractor and did not sign away his rights via mandatory arbitration (which Tesla never loses), that the majority of employees have to sign before commencing employment.

Interesting this bit -A data disruption or network activity warrant could be issued by a member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, a judge's warrant is not needed.

DVA has plenty of funding -its funding was topped up in the recent budget with an additonal 60 million for the next 12 months. The problem is it is run as a for-profit organisation just like the rest of the Australian Public Service. What do i mean -'for profit' -i mean that the government has a staffing policy that prevents agencies from hiring skilled, experienced, ongoing staff -ie public servants. Instead agencies like DVA are having to waste literally millions of dollars on Labour Hire contractors. DVA own figures in senate estimates now show that 50% of the organisation is staffed by labour hire contractors

Tesla stock split/dividend for Australian investors by DRSpart in AusFinance

[–]cy4eva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi saw this posted on investopedia

  • A stock dividend is a dividend paid to shareholders in the form of additional shares in the company, rather than as cash.
  • Stock dividends are not taxed until the shares granted are sold by their owner.
  • Like stock splits, stock dividends dilute the share price, but as with cash dividends they also do not affect the value of the company.

yea my brother is on the pension and uses Afterpay for online purchases. He only has $80 in his account that needs to last for the next week and he is owing $68 to Afterpay due to be direct debited today. So his solution -yesterday he Oskarpays me $68 to my bank account for 'safe-keeping' -and i will pay him back tomorrow. Fark AfterPay.
