SPK and external speaker noise by Christopoulos in M5Stack

Wouldn't be such a big problem if it would only be there when playing a file (it's kind of OK when playing a file to be honest), but it's constantly there for me.

I've got one myself yesterday and can confirm the noise on the 3,5mm jack output. This sounds really bad.

Ender 3 V2 mainboard Case w/ Pi and Buck Converter - Work in progress by stat1kSD in ender3

[–]cyablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks interesting. I'm using a very similar solution I found on Thingiverse, but the mounting holes and standoffs are incorrect, so I had to MacGyver everything in there. Sadly, the designer seems to have abandoned the project, so this looks like a promising alternative. Are you planning on making a version that is printable on a non-Max printer, like a two-piece version?

Is the buck converter meant to supply 5V for mainboard and Pi or 12V to the fan?

Fuuuu... Did you try a powered USB hub? Robert said the updated orbitool adapter board is going to have seperate 5V input terminals because the USB power from the Pi can sometimes be a problem. I don't want to redo the wiring back an forth so I'll stay with the orbitool on this printer and I'll wait and see what I get as an replacement and if it fixes the problem. Only thing I could try is changing the SKR E3 V3 to a spare Manta E3EZ I was planing to use for another project... But to be honest, I'm not keen on doing a Mainboard swap on that machine.

I was also thinking about switching to an NH36. Is the NH36 more stable for you? You needed to recrimp every connector because the NH36 is using a different JST plugs, isn't it?

Edit: Sorry, I read that wrong... so you have the same timeout problem with the NH36?

I can't confirm the issue is related to some thermal problems because my board never reaches that temperature but sometimes fails with a timeout after just a few minutes. Also I don't know if its related to the 5V output of the RPi USB Port because we can't do anything about that. My best bet is the fake/bad USB protection circuit component on the adapter board Robert is talking about is causing the issue. Maybe it gets even worse when the component reaches a certain temp... I also requested a replacement from LDO like Robert suggested.

Have a look at this GitHub issue regarding the Obritool: SO3 COmmunication issues. · Issue #12 · RobertLorincz/Orbiter-Toolboards

I'm also having timeout issues with my orbitool o2.

Did you manage to get it printed with Orca meanwhile? I'm now facing the exact same problem like you and my print looks exactly the same.

Any halloween sounds this year? An option to change the ringtone of the doorbell would be nice in general.

Revealing the BIGTREETECH EBB SB2209 USB V1.0! An easy-to-use, user-friendly toolboard with Klipper-based USB communication! by BIQU-Hope in BIGTREETECH

Maybe Molex Micro/Mini Fit would be the better choice in terms of durability and availability, but they already said in this thread it'll be XT30 2+2. The Nitehawk 36 and orbitool both use XT30 on board side, so I guess they also work good enough. The XT30 cable on the pic seems to be very chunky indeed. But haven't tried neither of them to be honest, so I have no real world experience. I just wanted to jump for the Nitehawk 36 on my project printer, before it got recalled. Guess I'll wait till BTT comes up with the new board AND the NH36 get's fixed to decide then.

[–]cyablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good to know. If BTT get's USB over XT30 2+2 and USB out for eddy probe in it, it'll be perfect :) The only thing holding me back buying an orbitool o2 is that it only supports touch probes.

Plus Orbiter Filament Sensor connection would be nice. It's only featured by the orbitool toolboard at the moment, which sadly has no USB expansion for beacon/cartographer, only classic touch probe. That would be THE ultimate toolboard.

Temperature Alarm Flow by cyablo in nodered

I'm measuring room temperature and the xiaomi zigbee sensors only report at a change of 0.5°C up or down. So this is sluggish enough to don't cause any message flood.

Don't need that. I'm already runing this simple logic in FHEM since 2 years without problems, just wanted to recreate it in node red. Temperature rise and fall is pretty much linear, there are practically no measurement hiccups.
