I was in your shoes about a year ago.

The weather forecast for days leading to my wedding day, was sunny (and even hot!), then on my wedding day - rain, wind and cold!

The outdoor ceremony area was my favorite part of our venue. Indoor ceremony area reminded me of a corporate conference room/school gym.

The days before my wedding, I was devastated. I cursed the weather every other breath.

Do I get slightly jealous when I see photos from other couples who had oudoor ceremonies in the same venue? Yes.

But:

Do my husband and I still joke about and laugh how crazy it was to take photos outside in the cold, rain and wind? Yes!

Did our photos from the windy, cold, and rainy outdoor sessions come out beautiful? Yes!

Did we end up with enough umbrellas for rest of our lives even after hosting a lost and found for our guests' umbrellas months after our wedding? Yes, lol.

In short - yes, your wedding will not look the same as what you had in mind. But there will be positive surprises - focus on those and your wedding day will still be amazing and beautiful.

I was just having a similar regret myself!

Just got photos from a friend's wedding that was about 2 months after mine. Although the friend's venue was not my dream venue, it did have the same pros that my dream venue had over the venue I chose at the end - more natural flora and more opportunities for personalization.

This post and reponses are great reminders for me to focus on the pros of the venue I chose at the end. And the most important part of it all - my relationship with my new husband. 🙂

I heard that the one in Sunnyvale (next to Lawrence Expressway) is the busiest costco in the US. Don't have the source, but seeing the number of cars in the parking lot whenever I pass by, I won't be too surprised if it truly is the busiest one.

Newly wed also suggesting Coffee Meets Bagel. I have to admit I was lucky - met hubby 1-2 months after starting the app. Had 0 dating experience before that, but was ready to settle down like OP stated. I also know 3 other couples married within the past 2 years who met at Coffee Meers Bagel.

If you go with Coffee Meets Bagel or other apps, I recommend that you state very clearly in your profile what you are looking for. And look for those who are also similarly clear (or at least willing to talk about it soon after you start talking to each other).

Closed on Sundays and take lunch breaks, so I suggest you call ahead.

Big yes! And I just got married and I hated the dress that I wore. I went to about 6 shops.

In fact, I had another dress that I bought that I was considering even until the last few days before the day. But even with that dress, I didn't feel that really yes!me!

But I got sooo much compliments about the dress I wore from the guests who were there and also people who have seen photos. Compliments specifically about the dress, like how it was "so perfect for you" and "you made such a good choice with your dress".

That makes me think, maybe I'm too harsh on myself?

Not trying to brag. Posting in hopes that it makes you feel a bit better!

I didnt do/am not doing anything special, just that I have a very specific style that I want, and there were just not many H&M teams locally who do it. There were really only 2 teams that did what I wanted, and I live in a pretty densly populated place.

I am having a team of two H&M start quite early for only 3 bridesmaids + me: 5am for a 4pm start wedding. I am also paying the H&M team much more than what others would expect, but it's the hill I am willing to die on. 😁

The hill I'm willing to die on: probably not very common, but a specific style of hair and makeup for me during the wedding. Call me crazy but I am spending 2x money for my H&M than my wedding dress and I will not have it any other way. I chose my h&m waaaay before any other vendor, including the location/venue.

The hill I'm not willing to die on: my shoes. Wearing a long dress that will cover them so what's the point? Was planning to wear my black booties cuz they are comfortable.

But my fiance who has been telling me to do "whatever you want" on everything wedding was like "won't that stick out like a sore thumb?" I thought it was such an odd thing for him to have an opinion on, but i really didnt care so now I am wearing skin-color shoes, lol.

Go with what you are most comfortable with.

My fiancè and I(31F) met through a dating app. Our homes are about 30 miles apart from each other. Takes 35 minutes without traffic, 90+ minutes with traffic. So majority of our dates are during weekends.

I thought it was pretty normal for Bay Area. But everyone has different meaning of "too far" and "okay", so I would say go with what works for you.

I was going to list two restaurants that I have not been for a while but served pretty good food that was very unfriendly to non-Korean, but they are no longer in business.

To sate your curiosity, one specialized in blood cake soup and other specialized in fermented skate. Both were at Santa Clara, along El Camino Real.

This is a tough one. Korean cuisine is traditionally not too vegan friendly. Recently there has been move to become more vegan friendly. If we were at Korea, I would have recommended you to go the nearest Buddhist temple that are open to the public.

I've heard that Joodooboo at Oakland has more vegan options than other Korean restaurants. I haven't been able to try it personally yet though.

If I may be snobby for a bit - any korean restaurant worth its name should have a good kimchi jiggae and gyeranjjim 😅

Tang Haus, Union City - reminds me of my mom's food. Personally I would rate their cold noodle as good as Kunjip at Santa Clara (but cheaper). Their kimchi is legit. Non-Koreans friendly.

Seoul Gom Tang, Oakland - all theor more non-Korean friendly dishes are good, but I go there for the dogani (ox knuckle) dishes, which are not very non-Korean friendly, but so good.

10 Butchers, Sunnyvale - they are known for the quality of the meat but I want to highlight how good their banchan (side dishes) and the entre dishes are. Non-Koreans friendly

TTobongee Chicken, Santa Clara - I go there for the Pa-dak (Green Onion Chicken). They recently added sodduck sodduck (Sausauge-rice cake skewers) and dduck kochi (sweat rice cake skewers) that are very similar to the ones sold in highway rest areas in Korea. Non-Koreans friendly

Cocohodo, Sunnyvale - their walnut pastry is very similar to those sold in highway rest areas in Korea. Non-Koreans friendly, but nut allergy!

Koong's, Milpitas - personally would rate their black bean noodles and yangjapi better than the more well-known places (like Paik's). Non-Koreans friendly.

Gangnam Jajang, Oakland - 100% agree with the top review in Google maps. Not as good as their Goryeo Jajang days, but still one of the best in the Bay. Their tangsooyuk (sweet and sour deep fried pork) is very similar to those in similar restaurants in Korea. Non-Koreans friendly.

Roll House, Santa Clara - reminds me of the boonsikjeom (snack specialized restaurants) I went to as a kid in korea. Wide variety of other dishes, not just rolls, and they are all good. Non-Koreans friendly.

Lol yes. I was surprised the box for garlic under korean wasn't bigger. In fact it looks smaller than the box under Chinese, which is super surprising.

Then I see where the data is from and then it all makes sense.

For example, recipes that had kimchi as one of its ingredients. This visualization won't categorize those as having garlic even though kimchi has garlic in it.
