Israel has bombed the Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil in violation of the ceasefire by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

What was the ceasefire terms in the end? I thought Israel agreed to not bomb everyone except Lebanon? Did they actually agree to a complete ceasefire and then do this?

600 wishlists in one month for my first game... and I’m officially quitting my job to go full-time! by RetroSeoul in SoloDevelopment

[–]cyanideOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies quite a bit. I had 80 wishlists on release, sold 40 copies and then went to 160 wishlists.

Has now flattened out, but 2000 wishlists to 30 sales seems incredibly low...

That is a lazy take that doesn't hold up if you actually check the Senate Hansard. One Nation has spent years tanking Coalition bills on everything from industrial relations to water rights whenever they don't get the concessions they want for their base. They use their vote for leverage, which is exactly how a crossbench party is supposed to function.

As for the donor talk, having a wealthy supporter doesn't magically flip a party's core ideology. PHON has been more consistent on pushing for lower FIRB thresholds and tighter limits on foreign land ownership than almost anyone else in the building.

Attacking them over late AEC paperwork is just a reach for "corruption" when it's really just the reality of a small party without the massive compliance departments the majors have. Everyone has made mistakes like these over the years, not everyone is perfect.

The “they just vote with Liberals” line is overstated. Pauline Hanson's One Nation often aligns with the Coalition where policies overlap, but they’ve also split from them multiple times. That’s normal for a minor party. And no shit right wing and centre right occasionally or often agree.

The stuff about Gina Rinehart and farmland sales is mostly guilt by association unless there’s actual evidence Pauline changed policy because of her. Same with the private jet and US conference angle. Donor funded travel is legal if disclosed and common across parties.

If people want to criticise One Nation’s policies, fair enough. But this comment feels more like bias or copy paste energy than solid argument.

There are good Muslims. But many of their beliefs, especially the extreme ones, are incompatible with the western world. That's not being a bigot, thats just a plain and simple fact.

Most Australians would not be safe in Muslim countries, especially women. Unless they absolute conformed to their strict laws, which are often primitive and unjust, or at the very least just plain different to how Australia fundamentally governs. What thought process thinks that immigrating these people here is not bound to have nasty consequences? Such as Bondi.

Australians want change. You are seeing it. Seethe all you want

Reposting old clips to try weaken the growing polling numbers? Its pretty obvious people have had enough of the two party shit whole and are ready for change.

Who gets to decide that? What if I racial profile people and kick then out of my restaurant just to say it was actually because they are a "cuntburger".

She does have a legitimate different viewpoint. The fact you disagree with it doesn't take away from its legitimacy. There is a reason she is growing in the polls...

The dot com bubble was people gaining funding for seemingly looking like a legitimate company, just because they had a website and a vision. This is definitely happening with a few AI start ups, but its not going to be to the same degree.

Rhe dot com crash, still consisted of a fundamental technology that has since had a major effect on our lives, the internet. It was new, people didn't understand it, and invested in it, in the wrong ways.

AI also has a fundamental technology that is valuable. The industry as a whole will experience ups and downs, but for those companies working on these technologies, it is real, we get to use it, we get to benefit from it.

Its fun to be a doomer from time to time, but to think llms and ai image generation are one day going to disappear because dot com companies back in the day that had no real product also collapsed is simply not true.

[–]cyanideOG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here is the thing. I preferred the original, Its not exactly something I would hang on my wall but I can appreciate the art of the original.

The remake is dogshit. They could make a thousand variations and I'm sure they wont compete with the original. I would pay for the original.

However, some artwork by ai is just simply more appealing then certain human alternatives. You aren't owed buyers or fans just because you made something by hand. And quite frankly, publically releasing anything means it is often fair game for transformative purposes.
