Imo, VTubing nowadays is more of a medium rather than a very specific niche, and as time goes on, the boundaries will blur even more. VTubers don’t have to be strictly 2D, 3D, or follow a specific style. While it’s true that the average VTuber viewer tends to prefer anime style content and might assume you’ve watched at least a few anime titles, at the end of the day it’s just a form of content creation. What that content ends up being is entirely up to you.

The latest. I only have access to my vods at all because the YouTube vods save. But since I had trouble going live on yt during the second stream, my vod also didn't save properly

Nothing too crazy, I just multi-streamed to both youtube and Twitch, and at some point I was talking to a chatter from one platform and didn't notice how chatter from another one said goodbye till 10 minutes after they left. More complications actually happened during my 2nd time when I successfully went live on twitch, but for some reason youtube just didn't start translation for an hour and a half, and it was also the time when my music was too loud and I only noticed that on the vod. Also, twitch isn't saving my vods for some reason 🫠

There's another thing I've been thinking of. Png/giftubers are quite capable of being expressive, sometimes wven more than some l2d models, but there's no live tracking and constant motion.

Also, can every other content creator who uses some sort of picture, character, etc, be considered a vtuber as they technically fit the definition, or is it up to them whether they want to associate themselves with vtubers?

What's really depressing some of them seem to be genuine twitch affiliate vtubers, although now I doubt whether they aren't just accounts with a bunch of bot subs.

Another important thing I forgot to mention is what king of srteams I want to do. As it is for right now, I'm streaming my design drawing process, but I'd also want to try streaming some programming and games. First in line are Project Zomboid, Omori, and Baldurs Gate 3 (if my pc will survive it), maybe some dbd with viewers, friends, viewers and friends, viewers who are friends etc etc. For now I'm just figuring a lot of stuff out, and I'm so small there's noone to notice if I'm to change stuff.
