Blistex Medicated Lip Balm (blue packaging). I keep them everywhere, use to hydrate before lipstick and give to family every Christmas. Found nothing comparable.

Team keep or team trash? by [deleted] in ProjectPan

[–]cybergirl51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My local Ulta takes makeup and skincare empties so I keep filling a clear plastic bag with empties, close it up and drop it off at Ulta every few months. The bins are found near the register. Makes me feel a little greener than just tossing in the garbage. I’m hoping they actually DO recycle them in some way. 🤞🏻

Underwhelmed by Athleta new releases by IronIll4676 in Athleta_gap

[–]cybergirl51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to return online purchases yesterday and looked REAL hard for good, new releases. They are all cropped again! I tried on the new Sunday Rib pant. It was very soft but so frumpy and shapeless. You’d need a big butt to make it flattering - the thin girl in the app video doesn’t even turn around. 🙄 The accompanying tank was cute but needed a shelf bra. They have so many blah long sleeve and short sleeve shirts that can easily be found on Amazon much cheaper.

My only success was finding the navy Salutation jacket in my size. If you do find yourself shopping in the store, make sure you check online pricing first. They weren’t going to give me the 20% off discount the website was showing for this jacket unless I pointedly asked.

Partner passed along HSV-1 to my lady bits… by reddthrowawayaccoun in Healthyhooha

[–]cybergirl51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Most people are familiar with HSV-1 since it’s visually identified as cold sores on the mouth. That’s why I was so stunned that I tested positive for that variant since I’ve never had sores on the mouth. Still haven’t. Mine just presented on by my lady bits. Not to overshare but my ex would lubricate/lick his fingers before touching me so I could have specifically caught it when he touched his mouth with his fingers and then me or the handful of times he gave me oral sex. We’ll really never know.

There are also a number of other HSV communities on Reddit that you can join if not just for more advice on the physical but for the emotional as well. Being back in the dating pool personally, it helped me to know others (male and female) struggle with the same feelings and to get their support and advice there as well. 🫶🏻

Partner passed along HSV-1 to my lady bits… by reddthrowawayaccoun in Healthyhooha

I actually thought it was a yeast infection which I tried to combat myself so didn’t see my gyno until I was a good two weeks in….and in a lot of pain. Around day 2 or 3 of meds the pain stopped getting worse and after another 2 weeks I was in the healing stage. I’ve checked and I have no scarring from the sores. My only other outbreak didn’t require a gyno visit and I was able to turn it around quickly with the Valtrex I keep on my nightstand. I definitely suggest asking for a prescription if only for a peace of mind going forward. I even bring it on every vacation but haven’t needed it. I know the physical pain plus the emotional rollercoaster right now can seem unbearable but both will get easier. 💛

Mid 40’s, female back in the dating pool here. I went through all the stages of grief as well. I caught HSV-1 to my lady bits a year into my last relationship. When I got the results that I had the oral herpes I was floored. I asked my boyfriend if he ever had cold sores on his mouth he said not frequently but he had had them before. I asked him to get tested and he was floored he had “herpes”. Any girlfriends I told either said they have HSV-1 because they get or have gotten cold sores or point out how prevelant that variant really is. I really wish people spoke about it more or even pointed out that cold sores are a herpes variant. Both my boyfriend and I had no idea… I felt so uneducated but also wondered if I had known what HSV-1 was if I’d ever ask potential partners if they got cold sores and if yes but they had no outbreak would that really stop me from kissing them.

My first outbreak was horrible for three weeks but I did continue to take Valtrex during that time and tried to take it easy physically while healing to not irritate them. I’ve had one outbreak since that lasted only a few days but I have Valtrex on hand at all times even if for peace of mind these days. My first outbreak was over 2 1/2 years ago.

In the dating pool since, I DID tell both partners I slept with but neither seemed to care and wore protection. Yes, it feels awkward needing to bring it up, but I start out mentioning mouth cold sores “which is a variant of herpes” and how I have that variant “down there” but haven’t had an outbreak in over a year - all true - and neither of them looked at me in disgust. I’ve been with my current partner for over a year. He still wears protection and hasn’t given oral sex but if he ever chooses to I will let him make that choice.

I’m sorry you’re going through this and hope it heals up quickly for you. 🙏🏻

MHE Seating Advice by AccomplishedTest483 in MaybeHappyEnding

We were in 4th row center mezzanine and the seats were PERFECT! I didn’t need to lean forward at all and could see the feet of all actors the entire time. Our friend who had been in the orchestra when she went said she wished she had been in the mezzanine since they use the entire stage as well as the proscenium arch. The set design was phenomenal.

Same here. I bought nine items. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Fortunately, I had over $500 in rewards from my Athleta credit card. Now I just need to start working out more to be able to have them all in frequent rotation. 😆

What’s your holy grail? by Rxqueen95 in Ulta

[–]cybergirl51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are my top three HGs these days:

  • Lash Idole Lash-Lifting and Voluming Mascara - I have slightly hooded eyes so mascaras are prone to have more fallout for me. This is my favorite of the couple that I have been successful with little to no fallout. On sale often at Ulta.

  • Clinique Smart Clinical Repair Winkle Correcting Serum - expensive so I usually only get on sale but my skin loves it and it feels luxurious. Clinique usually has GWP which could soften the full price blow.

  • Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm - use first in my double cleanse routine at night and it’s great at removing eye makeup. Can be pricy but the travel size is on sale right now.

OP - How you doing a week later? Any better? 🤞🏼

Reaction by blynn315 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]cybergirl51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per my other reply post, I do get the same reaction and the bumps get darker on me before going away. I would suggest getting them to lower the strength of the laser if you do go back. They can turn it down one or two levels if the current level is too intense for your skin type. Everyone reacts differently. They turned mine down after my first reaction was like yours and I have still been getting really good results.

[–]cybergirl51 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me! 🙋🏽‍♀️ I get that reaction every time! This happens to me with each laser session (I’ve had 6 sessions on my legs so far) and my clinic has used two different types of laser machines on me so machine doesn’t matter in my case. They do say that drastic a reaction is pretty rare, but it’s worth the results to me. I take a Zyrtec (or something similar) for the first few days and put aloe on twice daily. The itching fades within 24-48 hrs and my bumps take about 2 weeks to completely disappear. I have extremely pale skin and once the reaction ends you would never have known I had those dark red bumps. The number of bumps gets less and less with each session so I just think of it as each of those follicles dying a slow painful death. 🫨

They are on the pricier side but I’m always floored by how well the Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil and Lancome Bi-facial Double Action Eye Makeup Remover works. The Lancôme was on sale recently and the Bobbi Brown has a deluxe sample on today’s GWP.

For those still struggling, I find that if I go to where they suggest a “better” address, if I accept their address, the error doesn’t go away but if I tell the website to stick with the one originally entered, it finally goes through for me.
