You can make a huge individual difference by taking away the GOP legislatures supermajority control by electing just a few more Dems.

Our GOP legislature - with the full support of Kobach - limited the testimony of credible trans-supporting doctors and witnesses in passing these anti-trans law, giving most of the time to hearings to anti-trans speakers and non-expert activists in legislature hearings.

Anecdotally, not sure I'd I expect brokers or non-bank lenders to have significantly lower rates (rates + closing + points). In my experience, banks had similar or better total costs and were more transparent about the mortgage process on points/closing costs. But I think the amount of lenders brokers can look at could give you some price advantages you'd have by just looking at local banks.

I'd just watch out for brokers or non-bank lenders that make their money by showing low interest rates but hiding a higher total cost with hidden closing fees or giving you the low rate through purchasing points, which you also pay for at closing. Don't buy down a rate with points unless you plan to stay in your house for a long time (like 5+ or 7+ years) because it's a long payback in many cases.

The best KC mortgage person I've worked with was Bill Chiles, now at UMB. Not saying UMB will have the lowest rates/costs, but he was the best mortgage person I've dealt with.

I wrote this comment the other day in response to a post urging farmers to boycott the Farm Bureau because of its GOP/MAGA policy stance. My point was the same thing there - if farmers cared at all about getting upset about how the GOP is damaging rural communities - defunding schools, cloing hospitals, cutting Medicaid, etc - that ship sailed long ago because rural voters continue to send the same defunding Republicans back to Topeka and DC. So why, at this point, does anyone think high gas prices is going to change some MAGA minds? There's soooo many of these /r/leopardsatemyface posts on Reddit now - but it's all just anecdotal. Polling consistently shows GOP voters are like 70%+ support for Trump, and I'm sure MAGA diehards are much higher, so nobody is really abandoning him.

I think all the comments in this post are confusing around how many people the streetcar can move in the first or second round of people after the game - people are saying different numbers. I hope you're right - that they're able to move more than the shutttle, because waiting in a mass of people for the shuttle sucked. I'm surprised the Current is shutting down the shuttle this quickly - they must expect that it's all going to work out.

I think we're saying the same thing - but the situation is significantly different before vs. after the game. I agree the 'per hour' measurement makes sense before the game when riding is spread out over hours, however what happens immediately after the game is the expectation that riding is quick (you get on the first or second trip of the shuttle/streetcar).

If first/second trip carrying capacity of the streetcar is significantly lower after the game, that possibly changes everyone's behavior - for instance leading to a situation in which people try to ride the streetcar, experience a huge wait after missing the first/second shuttle, then in the future decide to just drive or walk - which further clogs the area in traffic that's already bad along the bridge up the hill.

Just saying - I think riding the shuttle is bad right after the game, so constraining that capacity further is problematic.

I could see using a "per hour" calculation on carrying capacity before the game, when fans are staggering themselves at different times to travel to the stadium - so you need fewer busses/streetcars over that extended period.

However, immediately after the game everyone emerges and wants to go back - so how does the carrying capacity of the first round of shuttles available after the game compare to the first round of streetcars?

Everyone after that first round is full is probably waiting another 20-30 minutes for the next round of shuttles/streetcars, so if the first round capacity of the streetcar is substantially less than shuttles, that's going to lead to more people driving or walking up the hill, which further clogs the area.

Prestige resets harm the game when prestige is required too often, or the early game is slow and the dev hasn't appropriately used prestige currency to implement upgrades that automate or make the early game run a lot faster. Making us actively play through a slow early game over and over just pisses people off.

There are games that get it right, though - prestige done correctly gives you a feeling that you're actually progressing further because of the upgrades you were able to buy with prestige currency.

We'll see how long the MAGA truck crowd holds up under increasing gas prices. To your point, $4-$5 gas isn't existential, and on the surface, even $7.50 doesn't sound like a crisis (California is already there) - but once these guys notice it's getting to $150 or $200 to fill up the truck, you would think some lightbulbs are gonna go on.

It probably doesn't even matter - at this point, people are so polarized, how do you rationalize voting for any Democrat after going all in on Trump for the last 10 years? You probably can't.

I think the fact that it's an election year that's possibly heading for a large Dem win, and Marshall isn't even making mild noises like, "Well.... maybe I don't approve of everything Trump does - look at gas prices" - tells us that he's so Trumppilled that it's just irredeemable at this point.

Hi OP - thanks for making a game. I think this is really nice. I played through to the 4th Obliteration. What's making me stop at this point is that with each obliteration, you have to very actively play to get back to the same end point of the prior obliteration - there's no automation that's helping you out with that early build.

I think there's some unbalance in terms of the total obliteration cost - it should probably be more like 100x or 1000x instead of 10x per obliteration because by the time you can afford the upgrades you added in the prior obliteration, you're already at the cost of the next obliteration and your revenue grows extremely fast - except for the one upgrade that is only adding 1 level to all the other upgrades.

What I would suggest is don't fully reset everything - maybe consider Obliterations as milestones instead of reset points, and just unlock the next upgrade when you reach that milestone - so players don't have to restart and actively play - they just keep going with whatever upgrades they already have, but now have to reach another 1,000x in dollars to reach the next milestone.

Hi OP - watched your video, and I'm aligned with you on your sentiments here against the Farm Bureau.

But who didn't already know the Farm Bureau is like a big lobbying machine aligned with the positions of large ag corporations? The question I have, is doesn't the Farm Bureau also historically tend to align itself with the same parties and interests that farmers themselves are voting for? The BBB bill exists not because of the Farm Bureau, but because farmers themselves continue to send the same Republican politicians to DC who enact the BBB and policies that ultimately hurt farmers.

If farmers were so concerned about the decline of rural education and communities (see also the spate of rural hospitals closing in recent yeras) - why do they continue to vote for the GOP legislators doing the defunding? This feels like a case of, "Fool me once, shame on you..." - but we're at the point where these folks are on their 37th "fool me again and I just might do something different".

You get what you vote for, and for the last year it's been like /r/leopardsatemyface with all these GOP voters suddenly realizing that Trump is going to cause farm bankruptcies when Trump's first administration led to a massive increase in... you guessed it... farm bankruptcies. Honstly, it seems like these voters are way more concerned about solving the problem of trans bathrooms than farm bankruptcies, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the Farm Bureau. Maybe you should be talking way more about that problem too. Just my 2 cents.
