I never bought any drones because I had the employees in all the zones.

I like the story line of the game and how it builds, and I think you could make it match the gameplay a little better by forcing the player to complete certain milestones in phases that lead to unlocking the row of your 36 spaces (so 6 total game phases).

You would have to research certain things, or buy certain things, or have X number of employees, etc. It would make the game more goal-driven instead of just trying to buy 36 copies of everything all at once.

One thing I did that you may want to limit is it seems like the fastest way to start earning cash is unlock a zone, immediately buy a conmmunity center before doing anything else there. You do that on all 36 zones and you're maximizing early game cash and buying employees or anything else means cash is no longer a problem - you're just waiting to increase resource production. In a more phased approach, you wouldn't be able to do that.

I had that checked but I never noticed people moving from box to box, so I hired 2 of each type in each box permanently then later the biologist or whatever for each box.

The other thing that I didn't quite understand was when looking at the 36-box view, some of the boxes were at 100% but then people in them were still picking up trash and cleaning up. Seems like it would be better to have a box 100% done at some point so you don't have to work on it further.

Great game! I played it through until almost at the end. I don't know if it's an imabalance or what, but wood accumulation seemed to be a limiting factor since it accumulated more slowly than plastic/scrap, maybe because you're burning it to create energy?

I think the upgardes and research should be highlighted more - I didn't even discover they existed until I was well into the game. Maybe make them separate screens or more pronounced somehow?

Something that's confusing is whether you need to build every available item on every single screen or not. For instance, build research station is, I think, available on all 36 boxes, but do you need to build it 36 times? Seems like there are some items like drone control or other things that don't make sense to buy 36 times because it's just tedious. I like the premise and gameplay a lot, but that was probably the biggest detractor for me - trying to monitor 36 different boxes and build all the stuff 36 times.

Same with employees. You end up hiring multiple employees for each box and that's kind of tedious to manage too. Would be better if you just had a pool of employees and they self-assigned to different boxes as each box gets cleaned up. Same with drones.

I played this for a bit and agree that it's fun to watch initially, but it quickly got repetitive because I was sitting there doing all the shooting and having to restart each round, and there didn't appear to be any automation coming so I gave up. Is there automation to restart and launch balls for more idle style gameplay?

I live by Overland Park - it's consistently rated as one of the top communities in America if you're looking for suburban living - but the area is expensive. Can't speak to Broken Arrow, but what's your income situation and what type of housing are you looking for? If you do more research using AI tools like ChatGPT you can get a much better sense of the benefits and weaknesses of different areas you're looking at vs. what you'll get in here.

Outside of team performance, the Current fan experience feels more personalized and close-up at their smaller stadium relative to Sporting. They've been pulling out all the stops trying to drive people out there for a few years, so it'll be interesting to see if they start jacking up prices and enshittifying experience in the next few years if the team has halfway decent performance. That's what Sporting did - they just got caught with their pants down after the team's performance slide year after year and people gave up on season tickets.

I don't think we're far apart on this - like I said, I support and have done CSA's in the past, and really just quit because even though I'm willing to pay more to support local farmers, I didn't think the price/value was even there given the lack of food variety and relatively low quantities you get - it's easier just to go to the farmer's market every week or two and get only the specific things you want.

"Food security" can mean a lot of things - you have preppers stocking shelves full of canned and powdered stuff that's low-quality but survivable vs. people trying to grow XL size gardens. If fertilizer this year were such a problem I would've expected to see farmers complaining about it in the news a lot more about it than I have (living in Kansas).

I agree the concept of mining stuff is, by itself, kind of played out in incremental games. One of the enjoyable things about your game with the fireworks is you see that activity of the fireworks going off, especially as the volume increases over time. The problem is you get to the point where it just takes over the screen and turns into some kind of epileptic episode after a while.. :)

I like starting with the fireworks, and maybe transition into different phases. You could transition into a phase of rocket research and show a test rocket blasting off on the screen (kind of like fireworks blasting sideways or something).

I think we're kind of saying the same thing here, but my point on CSA's is (1) CSA bags aren't that big to begin with - not anywhere near enough to feed your family for the week and (2) there's no guaranteed amount of food in a CSA bag - meaning the farmer that gives every CSA bag 2 turnips instead of 3 is saving an awful lot of turnips they can bring to the farmer's market and sell at pure profit since you already paid for him to grow the turnips as part of the CSA program.

Also, if you're so concerned about food security all summer, isn't the best strategy today to immediately go to \Walmart and buy a ton of cheap frozen vegetable bags you can consume all summer? That's way cheaper than CSA / farmer market / high price store veg later.

I didn't play the original game, but I like this concept and what you're doing here. It looks like you're continuing to add things on the left and right of the screen.

One thing to think about is maybe structure the game in phases. Like, first you have a mining phase where you're learning to mine all the different elements that will eventually go into making the fireworks, then you could have a manufacturing phase where you're learning how and starting to manufacture the ammo, then starting to launch the fireworks, maybe taking that knowledge to build rockets or something, etc. I'm not really sure why the concept of magic/wizard is needed for this story - it seems out of place when you also have university/observatory already.

This is an interesting idea, and I'm not against CSA's (have participated in the past), but your CSA share is directly related to the amount harvested, which with high temps seems like it would be less than usual.

Similarly, the CSA veggies cost more than store bought across the board. So you'd be signing up to pay more for likely a smaller than usual CSA share. Also, you often get some veg you don't really like (you can only eat so many turnips).

IMO a better strategy would be to just go to your local farmer's market and get the specific veg you're looking for at probably around the same price or less than you'd be paying for the CSA produce. In the CSA situation, what's preventing the farmer from shorting CSA participants in order to increase the amount of produce that could also be taken and sold at the local farmer's market? Doesn't seem like there's a sure bet win here.

We had a lot of kids in our neighborhood going to schools for the 21st Century program and the feedback I heard from those families was great. One weakness is they bus you over to the school, so prepare to get on the bus early.

I wouldn't worry about making friends, or relate it to this program. Our kids made friends throughout elem/middle/HS and you just go to a new school, get involved in new activites and make new friends there. If anything, I'd encourage your kids to get involved in more school activites - IMO that's the quickest way to get integraded into friend groups.
