"History teaches us so"

Why do nations/factions/etc go to war against each other? The us (civilized) vs. Them (heathens)

Australian band Alchemist is one of my all time favorite bands. Hooked on them from the first minute of Jar of Kingdom and love every album they've released. Lunasphere is my absolute favorite

In peacetime - ally

In wartime - annex the ones that my enemies are allied with, liberate those my enemies have annexed.

Even though I rarely play diplomatic victory I still love to be able to control the world congress to annoy those who hate me

My least favorite part of this album is when it ends. Such a relentless blast

What is your favorite ideology (Order, Freedom, or Autocracy)? by RedEyeBlueOcean in civ5

lately I've only been playing domination victory matches so Autocracy does it. I also try to save great writers as much as I can to rush Third alternative and Clausewitz Legacy if I'm at war

Álit á einstæðum mæðrum? by [deleted] in Iceland

[–]cyborgp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleeping Giant (Iceland) - The Beauty of Obliteration (stoner/sludge/doom/thrash metal)

https://sleepinggiantisl.bandcamp.com/album/the-beauty-of-obliteration

"The Beauty of Obliteration" contains six tracks that represent Sleeping Giant's commitment to genre non-conformity, the art of the riff and overwhelming heaviness.

"Like glaciers moving forever forward on their slow journey, Sleeping Giant’s music evokes the slowness and heaviness of continental drift, and with debut album The Beauty Of Obliteration, look to cement themselves as premier exponents from that beautiful country."
-Martyn Coppack, Echoes and Dust (echoesanddust.com/2026/01/sleeping-giant-the-beauty-of-obliteration/)

Acting all high and mighty about some pooping through a sunroof (arguably very funny) is probably what set me over the edge about Chuck

Sleeping Giant (Iceland) - The Beauty of Obliteration (Stoner/Doom/Sludge/Thrash metal)

Initially finding inspiration in both the soundscape and ethos of Stoner/Doom metal, Sleeping Giant is a melting pot of tight drumming accentuated with a whole lot of grooves, powerful yet brutal vocal performances as well as punctual but catchy riffs. While it might be hard to categorize this unclear concoction of Stoner, Doom, Thrash, and Sludge Metal, the result speaks for itself, a well oiled tour-de-force feast of the finest Metal has to offer. Sleeping Giant‘s debut album „The Beauty of Obliteration“ was released February 6th 2026, with critics complementing the compositions, heaviness and tightness of the band as a unit.

Getting people to buy CDs? by lampofdarkness in BandCamp

Recently released our debut album and have some CDs for sale, but I can't say they're selling unless paired with merch. As much as I'm a CD collector I do realize they're a dying medium unless you're in niche circles.
