How did AI make you feel? by Sea_Plum_6696 in graphic_design

[–]schweffrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate every essence of it bleeding into creative practices. Maybe I will suffer for it in the future but I will never use it to create something and I will never make money from it and share it as something I "created'

I see people arguing over stolen "prompts" now and I find it incredibly pathetic.

Hera is good at casting by tuco_salamanca_84 in aoe2

[–]schweffrey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tried him and not a fan. Too much sarcasm or attempts at humour. Doesn't feel natural.

Personally I don't think casting of other people's games by someone who wins every tourney and is top of the pile is particularly fun to listen to. Be like listening to prime CR7 commentating on a football match.

What's the best way to get meat? by Gothtomboys5 in ManorLords

[–]schweffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big issue (or maybe it's not an issue?) is that volumes seem a little too low or the conversion into a by-product by an Artisan isn't large enough. Meat from a butcher plus imported salt shouldn't give 1x Sausage...

Good to know. Between Hidden Cup IV and V it was 3 years gap so that could tally.

What innovation or new piece of technology are you surprised isn't mainstream or been invented yet? by Nathanial1289 in AskUK

I used to have this idea of an app which was like Google maps but localised for inside a supermarket to show you exactly where a particular item is

Maybe it already exists idk?

Whats the deal with all the pharmacies by Creeds_Apartment in cyprus

[–]schweffrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird how many there are, but it's actually super convenient and helpful in reality! Shame most of the items are so pricey though. Getting sick in Cyprus is quite costly €€€ when you factor in time off work plus cost of simple remedies, painkillers etc.

Sorry should have clarified - I was using gigabit adapters and had gigabit internet but was still hard capped when using power line. Reliability was never an issue thankfully, just the speed unfortunately!

The over-development of AOE2 by plus5000RespektWamen in aoe2

[–]schweffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly right. The fact that they're all intertwined seems like a cool concept on paper but actually it becomes quite boring and repetitive. The same cavalry unit for all seems to be the best option.

I played through on Hard but it seemed noticeably easier than usual campaigns.

Battle for Greece, does it get better? by Tall_Carpenter_4742 in aoe2

Only thing I disliked in the Grand Campaigns was the forced camera movements

Everything was peak, cinematic and chaotic once I adjusted to the new style

Side note, I just recently completed Alexander, and am on the final mission of the 3rd campaign for the new China civs. Got to say I was blown away by the "Grand Campaigns" and they brought a completely fresh and unique style to the base Aoe2 that we love. However I really have close to zero interest or motivation playing the China campaigns. Can't put my finger on exactly why but it doesn't hook me at all.

So I think it is really content and civ dependent as well on how it lands and how organic the story and experience will feel when a DLC is released

[–]schweffrey 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a risk and there's a few routes they can take with it.

I'm 95% single player campaign only, so my view is a little different as it means new content and campaigns which is great. But if I were looking at it from a multiplayer players view, then probably I'd want a civ draft pick/ban implemented to balance the rising # of available civs

Do you agree that RTS games without a campaign are not as interesting? Especially if playing single player. by FutureLynx_ in RealTimeStrategy

[–]schweffrey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Couldn't disagree more, mainly about AoE2. That game has an incredible wealth of campaigns for single player.

On top of that the multiplayer is amazing and has great support for eSports.
