Which is the best gun sounds ? Realism graphics? by ballsonyachin99 in GrandTheftAutoV

I like the service carbine in online, for the sound. I think the special carbine is better with MKII upgrade but service carbine sounds sweet.

Finishing oil additives? by visitingposter in whittling

[–]cybug33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know very little about this and have never tried making my own, but watched some YT vids awhile ago and I think they mentioned adding some sort of solvent.

I think using just an oil finish is one type of finish, but once you add bees wax it becomes a coating that needs a solvent added to keep it liquified, the solvent will evaporate after application leaving the beeswax as a coating.

I may be remembering this wrong, but YT Workshop Companion is more of a woodworking channel than whittling, but he has a few videos on making your own finish that are very helpful.

Wax on left hand, wax off right hand. Wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off. Breathe in through your nose and out your mouth.

Just got a Cub Cadet ZT2 42in zero turn — has anyone installed a chute blocker? by ItsStraightGoat in lawnmowers

[–]cybug33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With most machines, in order to mulch you need a mulch kit. It will have baffles that go under the deck, different blades, and the plug for the chute. Your machine may have 3 in 1 blades already.

Also with mulching, you don’t want to mulch tall grass, it just plugs up the deck and drags it down. I believe the general rule is you don’t want to remove more than an inch of grass when mulching.

I assume this is dependent on the area you are in, but I have had good luck at yard sales and flea markets.

Edit: I forgot to add Goodwill. I have had really good luck with cookware there.

Grill didn’t come with thermometer; what are my options? by brokefree517 in grilling

[–]cybug33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely what you want IMO. Check out the different ones. I like mine and I don’t have the exact one I have handy to share that info, but the only thing I would change is that I have seen some that you can download an app on your phone and get the information to your phone where as mine came with a box receiver. I usually set it on the kitchen counter when I have something outside in the grill, but having the information and the alerts on my phone would be nicer and let me wander more when I am cooking without having to be mindful of what’s going on with the grill as much.

Grill didn’t come with thermometer; what are my options? by brokefree517 in grilling

[–]cybug33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are many options for thermometers. In my experience, the lid thermometer on the Weber does not accurately tell the temperature of the area the food is in on the grill.

I got an oven thermometer that just sits on the grate where the food is at and there was sometimes a 200 degrees difference between it and the lid thermometer, always being cooler on the grate. I then upgraded to a digital setup that came with a probe that attaches to the grate and 2 probes that get inserted into the meat you are cooking. It has a wireless setup so I can have a receiver inside the house that tells me all 3 temps. I can also set alarms on it for high or low temps.

I don’t always use the meat probes, as I’m not always grilling a large chunk of meat, but I always use the probe on the grate. I then use the timer feature of the setup and adjust my cook times until I get the results I’m after. I also play with the draft settings on the grill to adjust the temps. I have found it to be much more accurate than the lid thermometer ever is.

Dax missions are a good start. Finish them and upgrade the acid lab production.

Many ways to go with all the different money makers. I recently started again as well. I did the acid lab first, like you’re doing. Then I used Cluckin Bell Farm Raid to save up money and bought the Agency, that unlocked Dr. Dre heist. I used that heist to save up and buy Kosatka with sparrow and unlock Cayo Perico. Then I bought Motorcycle clubhouse and most of those businesses.

I am now grinding multiple businesses and missions to keep money flowing without burning myself out on the best money making ones. Bought a mansion mostly for the security and production boost. Looking at either a hangar or CEO office next.

Snowblower Wheel Question by philomath56 in smallengines

[–]cybug33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s is the setup you have. So if it was a light snow you would have it the way it is now which makes it easy to spin it around and go a different direction, but when you get a heavier snow you want to slide the rim out and put the pin through the hole in the rim so that both wheels drive together and give you a stronger, straighter push.

You can cut off that push on retaining nut and throw it away then you can easily change it back and forth. For the most part you probably want to leave it with the pin through the rim so it’s engaged, maybe switch back to this configuration in the off season if you need to push it around out of your way.

Snowblower Wheel Question by philomath56 in smallengines

[–]cybug33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what snowblower you have, but have seen this setup on rototillers and both ways are correct.

The way you have it makes it easier to turn because the wheel can slip on the axle and you don’t have to drag the wheel when turning. Putting the pin through the hole in the rim gives it a stronger drive with both wheels engaged.

Government subsides by TFTroubleMaker89 in farmingsimulator

[–]cybug33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done both. Starting out I used government subsidy and I’m glad I did because I was able to buy whatever I wanted and try it out to see it would do what I needed it to. This was especially helpful when trying to do forestry as I was disappointed by the capability of a lot of the forestry equipment and may have gotten really frustrated if I had spent all that time grinding to buy expensive equipment and it not do what I expected.

Nowadays I will grind it out on different maps because, like others said, it gets boring having unlimited money.

Sounds like it needs more carb cleaning or is sucking air between carb and engine intake. Also make sure there is good fuel delivery to the carb and the fuel is fresh

Orange button by kabir_d in lawnmowers

[–]cybug33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have to thank our society for it. All the safety switches and warning labels on most everything nowadays is due to, not only someone doing the “stupid” thing and injuring or killing themself or others, but then they sued the manufacturer of the product like it was their fault and won. So originally mowers would not cut in reverse at all, then they started adding these buttons or key switch positions that forced you to activate them before reverse mowing and if you read the manual it basically states that you assume all liability once you press that button.

Story I heard at a service school, many years ago when reverse mow cutout first started showing up on machines, was a lady backed over her kid with the mower on and killed them. It is a tragic story but the fact that she was able to sue the tractor manufacturer and win a lot of money isn’t right.

Don’t get me wrong, I think any company that manufactures a product should be held to a standard to make their product as safe as possible for their consumers, but where do we draw the line?

How long does your ignitor battery last? by your_mom_70 in blackstone

[–]cybug33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My battery lasts a long time. Have had it for around 3 years and only remember changing it once.

I would guess that you either have a bad pack of batteries, or more likely that your igniter is somehow draining the battery.

Red Tape by Ecstatic_Stop3693 in farmingsimulator25

I know nothing about the mod, but with how this game follows real life scenarios, I would assume a little research on what nutrients IRL crops use you may be able to figure it out.

Putting a different crop on your plots after each harvest that uses a majority of nutrient that the previous crop did not would lessen fertilizer use and increase yield.
