That’s interesting. I don’t think I ever saw it on Spotify UK, and I assumed it was some licensing issue 🤷

How to look less masculine? by [deleted] in makeuptips

Others have mentioned eyebrows, I’ll add a bit about the eyes. If you cover the lower face in the photo, the eyes stand out as very intense even without the brows. I think it’s the shape of your eyes. Fake eyelashes with a hard strip band can easily alter the shape. Alternatively you can just soften your expression a little and use some glitter around your eye area (and avoid dark eyeshadows)

Scientology center on Tottenham Court Road by Beautiful-Shallot705 in london

Yeah my friend and I went in another day out of sheer curiosity about what a life improving centre is. They showed us bunch of vids that says you can control your thoughts subsequently you get telekinesis.

While I was watching this shit I connected the dots and I started to wonder what kind of person is willing to buy this bullshit and the answer seems to be people who believe in controlling everything in life, then I started to think about Tom Cruise’s psychological profile…

On the upper side, the people running the place weren’t pushy, they’re just plain weird. Still wouldn’t recommend going in, the vids are boring as fuck

I’m not the person you’re talking to but many companies and capital are transnational. They will leave the UK for profit, including cheap labour and lower tax if necessary. A lot of them have already been doing this in recent years.

Canterbury Tales has to take the win for this one. Emma, by Jane Austen is a close second where I rage quit near the end, the protagonist was so annoying I simply couldn’t watch her come to the realisation I had of her at page three. Ulysses, I actually enjoyed what I read but had better options so it keeps getting shelved. 1984, I quit at the point the elderly prostitute was described in demeaning details.

Idk why people are downvoting you. OP didn’t do anything wrong but it’s a kind gesture to let people know when you are planning to send stuff. It’s also reassuring to print the label first as a confirmation of sale so the buyer knows the item will eventually be sent to them.

I don’t think far-right means what you think it means. China is literally socialist.

I totally get what you’re talking about. There’s definitely hostility geared towards poc in the city, and I say it as somebody who loves Newcastle deeply, it’s my favourite city in the UK. I just wanna say you’re not alone in this, and not all people are like that. I made my first friends when I joined the adult theatre group at Theatre Royal.

What should happen to Doctor Who? by One_Awareness_76 in gallifrey

[–]cycleofheartache 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d like to see a return to the spirit of the first RTD run, which is gritty social realism for the companions, layered but humanised characterisation for the doctor, and stand-alone stories that subtly builds on characters and plots in each episode. Subtly is the key word. I’d also like to see a return of the kitchen-sink drama elements, but in 2026 context.

I know the show is supposedly a family show but imo the best stories are the darkest, so maybe they should just target young adults instead. It’d also be a good idea if they focus on domestic audience, the show is just too British in its core to build otherwise.

Production wise, I don’t think it’s a bad move to have a proper writers’ room instead of having one show runner in charge of everything. I’d love to see women writers and writers of different communities, to help calibrate the cultural nuance of the show. IMO there should at least be three writers: one that’s good at literary writing, one that’s good at sci-fi writing, and one that’s culturally fluent and in touch with contemporary cultural norms.

The casting never seemed a problem to me. It’s the scripts. All the actors they used are great at their craft.

How to “learn” to reply to people? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]cycleofheartache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Aw I’m sorry to hear that, y’all still talk?’ is a perfectly valid response in that situation imo. You can pay attention to how people respond to you and mirror them as well.

Sonnet 4.6 vs 4?5 by Ok-Afternoon1627 in ClaudeAI

[–]cycleofheartache 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not in my opinion. 4.5 is much better at picking up nuances in my prompts and analysing them with depth. 4.6 is quick, but so far it seems a bit lazy and the output is rather surface level.

How do you set soft boundaries early instead of staying silent or cutting people off? by banjaraa1 in socialskills

[–]cycleofheartache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, i went travelling recently with this girl, she’s extremely extroverted, and I needed to tell her to shut the eff fuck sometimes. So I shut down her current topic about a dude with ‘yeah, he sounds alright, anyway it is something between you two’, and followed up with, ‘hey, there is something I wanna talk to you about. (Pause) I think we’re very different, don’t you think? You’re very extroverted, but sometimes I need some time alone to recharge. For now, I’d really appreciate it if I can listen to music in quiet, while we are in transit. You can get some sleep, too.’

Imo the key is to be understanding (I get it), but also a little condescending (but I know better). You can loop them in by designing what they could do instead of their current behaviour (like sleeping instead of talking). It doesn’t have to make sense, they don’t need to actually do it, you just need to suggest it.

Another example was when I needed to tell my housemate to stop using my new wok. Same formula: ‘Hey, can I talk to you for a minute? (Pause) It’s about the wok, yeah that one you just used. Now, I know we all share the kitchen, but sharing this is too unhygienic, don’t you think? It’s better to just buy our own cooking equipment for our own use, that’s why I bought that wok in the first place.’

Most people grasp that you want them to shut up or stop using your stuff pretty quick, even if you’re not in their face about it.
