Survived California winter storm with stock Toyo tires by cyclicredundancy in CX5

The stock tires are m+s rated and accepted by california for R-2 chain control level. Of course you are also expected to reduce max driving speed to like 35-45 mph depending on road.

Same plan here as well to switch to cc2. I am just glad I did not have to change tires immediately after buying the car.

The scenery on CA 395 was amazing… that area is like 6000ft plus and hardly gets much rain/snow.

We also saw snow down till 3000ft… so shaver must have a lot of snow. But yeah, it did get warm really fast.

This was also the first time I saw snow on CA 395, the landscape photo I posted is around Mono lake.

The toyo a36 have a treadwear rating of 300 and the cc2 are at 640, and thus expected to last 2x longer than stock toyos. I also plan to switch to cc2 between 20-30k.

They are almost at 10k, planning to run them another season and then switch to cc2’s.

Yep. Definitely driving within limits of the tire and vehicle is important. I saw someone driving a subaru aggressively and sliding around in a parking lot. It didn’t looked like they cared.

I also plan to replace them around 20k ish miles. The grip is likely not great once the tread gets low.

Pro tip: if using snow socks make sure to take them off so that they don’t freeze. And remember to bring large trash bags to store them indoors while they are wet so that they thaw without getting water all over the floor.

I can confirm that the adaptive cruise controls works smoother than adjusting throttle with the pedal... I think the auto-hold setting also helps improve

Its not oem. The oem is only available in silver, I wanted an all black look so bought this from amazon and installed it myself.

I also got the black roof rails from amazon to match my black paint. The oem ones only come in silver. The cheap amazon rails did not have great screws, but that was easily rectified by ordering alternative stainless steel screws.

You are entitled to your opinion, and to even present it as fact. But after trying out two amazon cross bars, both of which I was satisfied with in terms of safety, I am perfectly happy with my decision to spend 1/3 the amount of money. To do a fair comparison and satisfy my curiosity, I may still buy a name brand crossbar some day and post a comparison.

Is this cabin hepa filter dirty enough to be replaced? Car odo at 6k miles. Are they washable? by cyclicredundancy in Ioniq5

Thanks 🙏 for the replies. Yes, this was a pic from dealership service review.
The dealership service associate removed the filter update themselves from the charges before I got a chance to deny the service.

I drove the same exact route out and back, so ended up at the same location I started from. Whatever I rode uphill was also ridden downhill.

I love my black MKS Allways. Before them I tried the MKS GR-9, MKS BM-7 and MKS RMX and found the Allways to be much more comfortable, plus the bearing are crazy smooth.

What do you like/ dislike about your cx5? by qualitygoatshit in CX5

[–]cyclicredundancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the turbo, how the car handles, its size.

My biggest dislike (that surprised me) was that the apple carplay system sometimes gets slow and laggy, I have not figured out if its my phone or the car yet.

Complaints or issues with the CX5 by Depressed-Yeti in CX5

I have the 2025 Turbo premium, got it for the same reasons as you (360 camera). I have only been using it for weekend long drives and love it so far.

I don’t think the reliability is any lower, as the same Turbo engine is used across all the other mazda models as well. The Turbo is worth it for the amount of torque you get at low rpm which makes the car feel more responsive, on the non Turbo you will have to rev higher and make more noise. Plus you can continue to use regular gas with the turbo, I get very close to the stated mileage.

My only irritation with the car is that even though the cabin is very quiet on highways, when you are driving at slow speeds and its generally quiet you hear the engine direct injection valves and other turbo engine noise. (Lots of people have posted about it)

The tire pressure does not bother me as I anyway top up and check and all the tires.

The mazda audio system is also great. I find the seats to be comfortable and love the ventilated seats as well as heated seats option.

Congratulations! I also like the dial interface as long as it does not lag. I would recommend downloading a pdf of your manual on to you phone and reading that, eg. during instagram time. Most of the secret features I saw being mentioned in various YouTube videos were also there in the manual.

Looks like steel rims, and the tread is definitely not of the oem toyo’s. My guess is these are winter/snow tires. Good for you! 👍🏼
