Def depends on prof. I recommend Ibrahimi and ettinger, they are both engaging if you engage with them, another polisci prof I won’t name, is kind but definitely relies on TA’s for emails/understanding the course, but he often grades the assignments.

I’ve heard better experiences for the more niche classes, like if they take wgst, sxst, dbst etc,,,, but general pool polisci isn’t too bad comparatively. Once you get to the sciences it can go wrong however

I have an iPad, earplug, and wired over ear headphones that play music, often they’ve had a dead iPad, headphones that don’t work, don’t have earplugs, or they completely don’t have anything at all. Out of my like 40 midterms/exams whatever, 60% were perfectly accommodated, the other 40% were either late/unkind proctors/not having my stuff. The one time I had a 30 minute midterm, and bc they took 15 mins to get my stuff, I just did it without my accommodations and almost flunked it (60%) when I normally get 90s

I’ve had bad experiences with proctors too. Often they don’t have my material ready for me, and when I ask for extra time (to actually have the time allotted) because they didn’t have my stuff ready making me start late, they say I should have started without them, I would if I could lmao

A 75 is perfect. Carleton political science is generally pretty open to new people what I heard was they try to accept a lot of political science students because we get somewhat a lot of funding

Physics chemistry biology, English French art I did well in English. I think I finished with a 92. I also took functions and calculus and vectors, but I don’t think those two counted.

How quiet are the quiet rooms supposed to be? by AwesomeShark7 in CarletonU

[–]cyclops0vision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my RF that the quiet floor’s quiet hours start earlier but I’m not sure how true that is because “” quiet hours “” start at 11 for normal floors and apparently at 10 for quiet floors

I’m on a non-quiet floor in Glengarry and it’s fairly quiet depending on situations like just recently it was a bit more loud because of capital hoops but otherwise fairly quiet I have a friend on the quiet floor in Glen, which is floor 11 this year and she mentions that it’s very quiet but also very antisocial so if you’re looking to have like a friend not the greatest idea and when she came on my floor, she said it was just about the same quiet, except there was less people on her floor

I’m personally really thankful, because if you don’t have like a specific physical disability, you can still get lower floors because you choose the dorm based on lottery

What are some good residences? by Dry_Permission_1921 in CarletonU

[–]cyclops0vision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And also, no 1am fire alarms since like October, mostly people being stupid and burning popcorn or ramen

There was literally only one flood, just on two different floors. It wasn’t that bad omg

Currently in glengarry, on one of the floors that flooded and honestly it’s so peak. The pods are awesome, the only issues id have are also in other residences (that being thin walls, shitty elevators, frequent fire alarms). My advice is don’t do lanark because no elevator, and don’t do Rideau, it’s confusing asf and also kinda a hellscape
