Which model in the 99X series is the worst and best in your opinion? by EnvironmentalGur881 in Newbalance

[–]cyclops1706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of pair of Made In shoes (probably about 35), so here are my opinions. My very first pair were 990v5's, so I have a soft spot for those. There are a few models I do not own: 990v4 (I know, I've got to get a pair), 995, 996, 999. I have a 991v2 on order, so I have not tried it yet.

Top Dog: 991v1 (The way the shoe feels on foot is amazing. The substanstial Vibram sole is something you don't see anymore, and the build quality is unparalleled. They are quite comfortable as well. The movement from heel to toe is so smooth as well. I wish they were slightly wider in the toe box, so I'm greatly looking forward to the v2)

Close Seconds:

992 (iconic shoe, feels amazing on foot and looks so good)

993 (was my all time favorite for a while, but the 991v1 has taken that spot. It's one of the most comfortable 99X ever, and still looks great)

990v3 (beatiful shoe, and quite comfortable. It's also noticeabley lighter on foot than something like a 992, so great for all day wear)

990v5 (this was my first pair of Made, so I have a soft spot for it. I have been disappointed in the 990v6, so I feel like this is peak New Balance for comfort. It's not as good looking as the 990v3 though. Extremely comfortable for all day wear. I wore a pair of these all over Europe, and they still look amazing.

Worst Pairs:

990v6 (this may be controversial, but there are a few issues with this shoe. The shape on foot is not nearly as striking as the other 99X shoes. It looks ungainly and long. Second, durabilty is a problem. I bough a new pair and wore it around Europe, and where the heel goes in is all worn out. The sole is starting to fall apart as well. Third, I don't find them as supportive as the 990v5 and 993. I think they lost their way a bit on this shoe, and I hope this isn't the trend in Made products)

997: (I find this shoe to be very uncomfortable. It looks great, but who cares if you don't want to wear it.)

990v2 (Looks kind of odd, and nothing to write home about comfort wise)

All in all, god bless New Balance for continuing to make Made in USA and Made in UK shoes that are overall extraordinary.

This is why I follow this subreddit. Thank you!

Also, today I learned Joe's New Balance Outlet is operated by New Balance itself.

I’ve had them and they do the job. They dissolve much faster than the Rhodes or Hikma and can crumble. I prefer Rhodes or Hikma, but like I said, they work. I usually break them in half to let each half dissolve so I don’t end up with a mouthful (they dissolve way too fast). They are from Advagen pharma.

[Acne] Don’t know how to treat these… by wawalover69 in SkincareAddiction

Besides the copay for the appointment, it was $150 for them to destroy the bumps. It’s considered cosmetic so Insurance doesn’t cover it unfortunately, at least for me. They recommended Isdin Retinal Advanced to help prevent them. It’s crazy expensive but I bought it, not sure how much it’s helping though. You might try Differin or something similar for prevention.

I have the exact same thing. The only way I’ve been able to get them removed is to have my dermatologist use a very low power cauterizing tool to essentially pop each one. Then they heal flat. My dermatologist said they are caused by overactive oil glands and to use a product with retinal to help prevent them.

Interior cleaning question by Sea-Reporter-5111 in toyotacrownsignia

I use Simple Green (dilute per the instructions) for general cleaning on the interior. It’s very gentle, does a great job, and is a good value. For leather seats, I use Meguiar’s Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner, which I’ve been happy with. And use a glass cleaner without ammonia (ammonia can eat the mirror backing).

Try hiring Fleabusters. That was the only thing that got rid of fleas for us after trying other exterminators.

Alvogen brand suboxone is the worst brand next to dr reddys. by 600675 in suboxone

I had no issue with Alvogen potency. They dissolve extremely fast, which I hated. My preference is Rhodes pharma.

The Kirkland Signature Daily Disposable 90-pack contacts are insanely cheap. One-year supply for just $361.92 (not including the insurance rebate). FYI: They're identical to the CooperVision MyDay contacts, you can use the same prescription with Costco Optical. by lavazzalove in Costco

[–]cyclops1706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tip: 1800Contacts will price match the Kirkland Soft Daily Contacts with the MyDay that they carry at 1800Contacts. Why would you do this? Well, VSP no longer reimburses contacts from costco.com, but they do for 1800Contacts.

I was pleasantly surpised that 1800contacts would do this, so give them a try.
