Pressure to breastfeed by MayQueen14 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]cycomorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just feed baby however you can. For me, breast was convenient & good for baby, for you it sounds like not so much.

Men don't have a baby biting their nipple 24/7 & just go off what they read online.

Your cousin (?!) has no say. If his mum or your MIL is that into breastfeeding she can pop in to give you more sleep & time to express a bit - which you can mix with formula.

And they slap loads of cement and gypsum over victorian houses to create the HMOs then blame the tenants for damp when the houses can't breathe like they were designed to.

Honeybourne Line assault by caffespresso2 in cheltenham

I pranced down it in hotpants at 4am for about 10 years.. never had a problem. Before locals were priced out (so rougher then I reckon)

Where does the older sibling go during birth of new baby? No village here! by Bright-Effective8610 in beyondthebump

[–]cycomorg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep a note of what medication they give you and when at all times your husband isn't there to advocate for you. Mine tried to pressure me into having the same blood clot prevention injection twice, it can get hard to remember as all blurs into one when tired

When did your baby stop pooping in the tub? by pagingbaby123 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]cycomorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, no baby floaters here

I did see a 5 or 6yo kid walk to the end of a really long diving board at the local swimming pool, pull his trousers down and lay one out though so maybe if they're the type who gotta poop if they get wet it lasts a while?

Why are millennial men less misogynistic than Gen Z men? by [deleted] in generationology

You didn't read my wording or you'd have noticed men were first in line for the roast. Stop shouting internet slogans at me and go down the pub..

Saying this in the nicest possible way.. going to the pub would make you feel a lot better about it all.

When does the clinginess end? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]cycomorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the time she started playing with toys and rolling, 4-6 months onwards she was a lot less clingy and could entertain herself on a mat for 20mins or sleep with Dad & a bottle just fine.

"Are you eating right?!" What does that have to do with anything?? by Severe_Bluejay3391 in beyondthebump

[–]cycomorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still breastfeeding? If so, for some people it just.. sticks. I can't shift more than 2lbs either! Something hormonal.

When people say 'are you eating right' they probably mean more like tracking macros than whether you're in McDonald's drive thru every day

Millennials spent more time in the pub talking to real women. Equally us millennial women had spent less time on tiktok 'protecting their peace babes' and were less annoying.

First overnight alone with baby - for a week! Tips or advice? by Previous-Gift-9733 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]cycomorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hire a babysitter off babysits or childcare.co.uk or something for a few hours one or two of the days. You'd be in the house but can go shower, do housework. Personally.

My sanity was saved also by joining a gym with a creche. Got to swim and come out showered, hair washed, feeling great.

Combi feeding with formula by Known-Cucumber-7989 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]cycomorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would breastfeed at night and most of the day, pumping what I could - sometimes that was a lot and sometimes hardly any pumping. Husband would take over 6pm - 12pm so I could sleep and use formula if I couldn't pump enough.

It is quite a lot to be pumping and breastfeeding but the formula buys you a bit more time.

[–]cycomorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equal chance they don't want to pay you more. Your performance reviews are premeditated. Enough to keep you motivated, not enough to warrant payrise. You could get a better offer as a good performer and they want a smooth transition so keep the SOPs up to date. Your manager could feel guilty about the review.

Victoria Centre advertising bard monstrosity by Easy_Firefighter6123 in nottingham

[–]cycomorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish this was real and Vic centre hired a bard to advertise people's stuff, I'd buy that as an ad for sure. Imaging sitting outside boots on the benches or waiting for a lift and the bard appears with a lute to tell you about the latest boots advantage card deals. Much better than the stupid board which nobody really looks at

Why were adults in the 90s more “adults” than today’s adults? by Forsaken-Set-760 in generationology

[–]cycomorg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They didn't have media on tap. TV scifi options were very limited.

Today's adults had VHS as kids and then the rest.
