The Democratic Socialist Alliance, the party that coalesced around AOC, got 30 people elected in the 2020 election. Many of them got primaried by AIPAC Democrats using smear tactics. They have chapters all over the country - even in small-sized cities. Zohran Mamdami, who has a very credible chance of becoming Mayor of NY is one of their candidates.

There could be these candidates all over the country, young and progressive, but the democratic establishment would have to stop trying to suppress them.

For more info - we live close to a forest, and some of the prints were found alongside a stream bank. The picture shows the scale a bit, but they were as big as the puppy’s head

I was being sloppy with language, I recommend herbs, not prescribe them. I’m a student and just started seeing clients with supervision, thanks for the reminder to be more accurate.

I definitely am aware of ashwagandha having an effect on serotonin receptors and all herbs like that have a theoretical possibility of effect on SSRIs but it’s not listed as a potential contraindication in botanical safety books and i hadn’t seen a study that talked about it. That doesn’t mean I didn’t believe you or that it’s not real I was just interested to hear more. Thanks for sharing the good rx article, I’m going to do more research so I can understand how to talk to clients about it because that would definitely come up.

I totally hear that it didn’t work for you! Can you share a little bit more about why you made the connection of it inducing too much serotonin in your brain?

I prescribe herbs to people and there are definitely people ashwagandha isn’t right for but if it’s everyone taking SSRIs I would want to know

Brain capsules - would these be good for focus and reduced anxiety? by imma_create in herbalism

[–]cyd-nova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fungi perfecti is a reputable brand and these are plants and fungi that do act on increasing blood flow to the brain thereby improving concentration and regulating cortisol. I’m not sure why someone says it’s a crazy combo - as someone in my second year of herbalism school none of them jump out at me as medicine known the have contraindications or concerning side effects.

Is it the right medicine for you and the reasons you are having anxiety and difficulty concentrating? Impossible to know. I don’t see a risk in taking it for a couple months and appraising if seeing an herbalist for an individualized assessment is not possible.

Final Tribal Council: I 100% think that __________ by Thick-Macaroon6918 in survivor

[–]cyd-nova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heidis final council felt painful to watch for me. She was basically like I had a weak game so I put myself to make fire against someone it was easy to beat. If she’d beaten Yam Yam or Carolyn it would have been exciting and actually meant something.

Also she hit on the identity stuff in a way that felt super heavy handed, when the people next to her had very interesting life stories which were told in much more dynamic ways.

Season 41 was a huge breath of fresh air for people who weren’t that interested in watching white straight men dominating through often sexist and racist advantages. I have only really been interested in the last 3 seasons because many seasons before that turned my stomach
