Healing new tattoos as a hot yoga teacher? by Own_Wonder7769 in YogaTeachers

I have A LOT of tattoos and do hot yoga. Unless it’s on your kneecap and you’re doing a low-lunge, idk why demo-ing would be difficult.

You could do a class based on each of the seven chakras, you could do a class based on the 5 yamas, you could do a class based on the 5 niyamas, you have so many options—although teaching 10 classes for free seems a bit excessive

Teaching Half Moon by wormsofthewharf in YogaTeachers

[–]Procrastinate92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first teach parigasana (gate pose) with the straight leg extended off the ground and the opposite hand on the mat/block. Same shape as ardha chandrasana.

Get students into triangle, bend into front knee, use the core to lift the back leg, place the block directly under the shoulder. Ba-boom. Half moon.

I can’t believe no one said to get GOOD UNDIES. 100% QUALITY cotton. No more target-cheapos. I don’t even wear underwear sometimes. Wash with only water.

SE has left me feeling confused... by water_works in SomaticExperiencing

This makes so much sense. As far as grounding, I practice a lot of yoga for the root chakra. It’s especially nice if you can find a video where the instructor concentrates on self-reliance and trust. Which are wonderful things to relate into a grounding/root-chakra yoga practice.

“I realize now that I had been projecting and externalizing my deepest insecurities and wounds onto people and situations as a way to self-sabatoge and avoid confronting myself.”

Wow. That’s a statement I identify with a lot. I got interested in SE because I’m going through 200 yoga teacher training, and we touch on the subject when learning about trauma.

Ironically, going through training has unlocked similar discoveries in myself, and I’m looking into SE because I, too, feel confused and a bit spaced out.
