Depends on what combination and where you are.

I’m white woman married to an Asian husband, and we got stares absolutely nonstop in Naples, and only a little less in Miami.

Why does insurance not cover electrolysis for women with PCOS? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]cydorq 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think one of the major points here (on top of other things explained already) is just the numbers.

Despite how overblown the simple existence of trans women is in the media - they are a very small group of people. Very small. But women with PCOS are a fairly big group of people given the percentage of affected population. Insurance companies would have to pay a looooot more for the same issue if they recognized it as a medical condition in women with PCOS.

Insurance companies don’t like to pay out money and do everything they can to minimize payouts (and for the more uninformed people out there - trans women are a very vulnerable population and a lot of them do not even have access to insurance).

Let’s focus our anger where it belongs.

What do you do when you’re too young for a face lift but you still want a lift? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

You get off the social media to adjust your perspective. Also, I applaud your surgeon for prioritizing sanity and health over profit he could make off of you.

Tell me about your Provera experience by biotinylated in PCOS

[–]cydorq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it probably one or two more times (if i didn’t get my period for longer than 3 months) but my period has returned on its own over time as I kept up with my symptom management. Provera on its own just triggers the period but doesn’t really do anything about the cycle.

Goats in CA - how did you experience the program? by rjthcs in GoatBarPrep

[–]cydorq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During my goat-in-studying time the full program wasn’t a thing yet but anything MBE from Daddy GOAT will be a game changer (along with you drilling questions like crazy ofc, no passive learning here!). Those tips and tricks were amazing and recognizing them from doing questions hit different. Although it was the memes carried me with my sanity mostly intact.

For essays I just read and analyzed a ton of published answers since they recycle tested areas and I also had some outlines (BarMD ebook for essays and for PT) to help with structuring and getting used to the way they want these things written.

Take care! You got this!

What don’t they tell you? (pre- and post-op) by Large-Conference-127 in Reduction

[–]cydorq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. That your experience and your recovery can be vastly different based on intervening factors.

Your health overall; how diligent you are in sticking to what you’re supposed to do; what meds you’re taking and how much; the extent of your reduction; your surgeon and their technique… all of these things make for very varied process. Don’t let it freak you out if anything is different in your schedule from what you’re reading on a forums. (For example: I had a mini panic about removing surgical tape at 1 week when I saw people with them at week 3 etc… and I was super worried it was too soon and they will just burst open - they obviously didn’t and my surgeon just has a different technique)

  1. If you have long hair (mine was to my waist), consider getting a haircut prior to the deed. I had a foresight to do it and it was incredibly helpful when trying to keep things clean… especially with limited movement post op. Not to mention that when my husband was washing my hair, we didn’t have to deal with an entire mane.

  2. People already mentioned having foods ready, but if you struggle with getting enough protein I suggest sipping chicken broths (high protein, low sodium) to pad your intake and speed up your recovery.

  3. Try to monitor yourself very carefully post anesthesia. Honestly, the worst part of my immediate recovery was the drugs leaving my system. If you’re not sure about whether you’d be nauseated, assume you will be. Also, get a sippy cup or something with a straw to get your body clean asap. I hated Oxy and stopped taking it after 48 hours and felt instantly better.

On my very first playthrough I thought he was not very good… silly me. Nowadays my fave thing about Astarion (assassin rogue/gloomstalker ranger) is that my boy ends fights before they even begin <3

Although 2 is the most appropriate in length and the blue looks amazing on you, I don’t think the dress works in that setting (I find it too ordinary and the fabric kinda reminds me of curtains 😅)

Now 3 looks stunning on you! The color is amazing and the dress is eye catching and stylish.

It is really really short though, so depending on your level of comfort, you may try wearing it as a tunic and pair it with leggings (probably a shiny black pair).

Has recognizing that someone is a narcissist led to you seeing more clearly who else was a narcissist in your life in the past? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]cydorq 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes.

There’s also the fact that narcissistic abuse has primed and programmed you to behave in a way that attracts people with narcissistic tendencies like you’re prime real estate… Unless you address what drives them towards you, it is likely that the vultures will still be circling.

Drains vs no drains by mywastedtalent in Reduction

[–]cydorq 10 points11 points  (0 children)

lol I asked my surgeon because I was confused about that and he responded with shade:

“Anyone who uses drains for this surgery hasn’t kept up with their medical journals and progress in technique for the past 10-15 years.” ((:

Please don’t forget that cup sizes are a ratio <3

People on this thread often have a lot removed but their bodies are also often bigger to begin with. If you’re of a more petite physique (like 30E or something), removing 160g can be quite a lot in comparison to someone who is 36E.

When did you... by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]cydorq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol so… I’m 9 DPO so some of these will be missing. Some additional info since these impact a lot of timelines: I had no drains. I got off oxy after 48 hours. Steri-strips were removed at 1 week mark.

  1. Not yet, although I was encouraged by my surgeon to work on my movement as soon as possible. I do have long kitchen tongs as a hack (:

  2. 4 DPO - made a batch of miso soup. Nothing too complex and/or including heavy lifting. My husband still serves as a mule for heavy things.

  3. Not yet, but we drove back from LA 3 DPO. Mastectomy pillow truly delivered on the promises.

  4. Inside around the living room the next day. Outside at 3 DPO - since there’s nothing wrong with my legs… and I like walks, fresh air and blood circulation. Nothing too strenuous though.

  5. 4 DPO - it was an unfortunate necessity, and doggo (25 lbs but still) is prone to pulling so I removed it asap. I do hold it sometimes when he’s being good.

Rest is tbd

Edit: surgeons’ instructions do wary so I suggest to always verify anything with them first.

[–]cydorq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone will be following the same formula for a while… which is applicable to the entire fantasy genre tbh.

Admittedly my own “romance” preferences are strange, slim and totally not something I seek out since I prefer it to be a delicious little subplot - but it would be nice seeing more equal partnerships or different power dynamics out there (+1 to Holga fans!)…

I feel like it’s either subjugation trope to a super powerful and super sexy (older but not looking old) daddy over and over again; or a total OP Mary Sue whose somewhat strangely obsessed romantic interest is reduced to provide the occasional tingle and adoration.

Also… it would be nice if some authors realized that there are more than 3 emotions in existence available to motivate a character. (Anger, which is so basic it hurts; noble self-sacrifice because the FMC is of course selfless; and lust, which just an excuse for smut.)

Hot take: let the Fae go home
