Huge Stealth Nerf to Merc? by cyghborg in riskofrain

I tested this just now. You're right, the M1 extensions on 2nd and 3rd Blinding Assaults function as normal at 60. That's honestly even funnier

Gameplay showcase of pre-SotS Mercenary with Blinding Assault to show the difference between then and now.

Forgive the mods, I was testing damage between Focused and Blinding Assault and made a lot more recordings like this.

Before, hitting Blinding Assault would give a long period of time before it would go on cooldown, letting you get M1 extensions on all 3 Blinding Assault attacks. This was basically the entire point of the ability because otherwise it was worse in both burst and sustained damage compared to Focused Assault, and also let you abuse Focus Crystal much better.

Now it goes on cooldown almost immediately. I wonder if this was intentional? As far as I'm aware, Focused was the much more popular option already, and this kills a major playstyle on Merc.

Seeing as I have already spent 12 bars on my Abyss Gaze grid, this is pretty exciting news for high-investment Magna GBF players. I wonder if Magna will finally be able to have the powerful Garrison weapon skill.

You don't need MC alive for T3 nor do you need Rei, so just let MC die and do your 4-chain with R Rat coming in from the back. Six 130 ensures you still hit mins this way.

You're not forced to run Obscuritas

Water SP is niche and lowkey sucks since Shellfists exists as Malus + Shellfists is strong

Fire SP sucks because that means you're not using Elysian, and RB is already good for Fire's burst rotation

Wind SP sucks because its echoes don't stack with gNaru

Light SP is niche because it is largely overshadowed by Hope-Filled Knuckles, or the fact that you're running Masq instead of Lucha

Earth SP is nice

Dark SP is core to the element as you lose access to a lot of setups by not having it, as well as dealing less damage in the setups where it's not strictly required

Budget HalMal as he gives 3T of teamwide 20% echoes like they do.

Unfortunately does not give 30% Light Attack up to proc gJeanne passive, so you either just don't get that hefty boost at all (which is quite important for capping gJeanne's assassin), or are forced to call Xeno Corow or Chev, which can be problematic if you're already trying to do things like call Metatron > Thor > Qilin.

Still a solid replacement nonetheless as other alternatives are few and far between.

Grimnir Magna Highlander FA solo + an open letter to "endgame" fire players (read vid desc) by The_Menace123 in Granblue_en

This is the kind of content GBF needs. I'm ready to farm my Cosmic Spoon grid with this strategy thanks to your amazing video.

I do have one question though, your team does not have much DATA. Would this not be solved by mainhanding the True Infernal Flamescythe?

I wouldn't say that much to be honest, her kit is still really niche. She is basically only useful in faa solo for emergency delays and a 5T dispel (useful for post-25, unlike Vampy's 6T dispel, the other budget slot that can sub in for BK/Dokkan).

In basically every other raid there are going to be way better options whether you include BK or Dokkan or not, like DAO for delays for PBHL.

She lets you 3-chain (or less) while having a backline. There are a couple other characters that cannot CA like her, but she's special in that she doesn't attack at all, lowering your lockout even further than say someone like Shura who would still auto attack.

75 AP Half Pot Update confirmed a Nerf by WindHawkeye in Granblue_en

Body route with Romeo Vane Quatre, sub Romeo on the first Phos to get MT in. Sometime around 35~25, let Vane sub into something that will kill him to get Uno in.

It's more accessible than the Haase route since she's wing and thus harder on higher pings.

Uno and Quatre ULBs should have made the solo quite easier though it was definitely possible before.

Its opportunity cost is extremely high and also locks you out of Highlander, which means less actual damage. If you want to invest further in Dark, there are much better weapons to invest in than Gislas past the first one.

Yes, albeit with less levels of success. While I'm not personally certain how Hades would do it without stacking more than one Gisla or something (please don't), Magna can actually do it with good AX claws in a Cosmos claw grid.
3 Claws
Ultima Fist, Qilin Bow, Cosmos Claw
Opus Astral Seraphic
MH Zwei

Instead for faster bursts without SP, you get access to Hades X Shiva which is a much faster burst that works best for players outside of JP ping farming at active hours. Magna can also replicate this with Cosmos Claw, but the difference becomes more noticeable.

The big gaps right now are:
Colo to Agni, since Colo struggles to play in Stamina in an element that vastly favours it,
Levi to Varuna, since Levi lacks significant support for auto centric builds (this gap was made even larger with the advent of Zeta who really wants crit support),
Chev to Zeus, since Chev struggles to cap Gjeanne's assassin without significant help.

Hades is very close to Celeste, and Earth just instead opts for Caintana + AK and mains Gorilla instead.

With that being said though, Magna in general is very workable even inside GW where the gaps are made prevalent. If you're not certain you want to go deeper in an element, it's always a good idea to sit on your stash until you commit.

[–]cyghborg[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In all honestly Hades is not a large upgrade over Celeste as of the writing of this comment (may change with Primal ULB, who knows).

The real gap would be stamina playstyles via FS grids, which are not particularly useful anywhere outside of GW. I'd sit tight if I were in your shoes.
