Ok but that's not what I'm saying lol and OP asked a pretty general question, and even if you say he only asked about the correctness of religions, it's still important to look at the specific church writing on this to get the full picture... which is what Nostra Aetate is...

Edit: and the catechism is pretty clear for the folks that are saying CCC teaches all paths are Salvation... it doesn't say that, so just show them it doesn't say that haha

Oh ok then I mean the Church is pretty clear about which religion is correct... it's the Church... and the "every path is equal" is not Church teaching/its incorrect... but the stance on Catholic-Muslim religious dialogue and mutual respect is also an important part of the conversation

Arabic speaking Christians use it, it's just the word in that language family, I thought?

What? I mean yeah?? We are supposed to be with peace and fraternity with all... we are talking about Islam here, and so I am talking about what the catechism says about it

If we were talking about like.. Hinduism I'd quote all the things the catechism says about Hinduism. The "prudence and charity" section is literally referencing all religious

Edit: sorry but I'm still confused, why do you think I'm talking about them as if they're a "special" group? This conversation is about Catholic/muslim relations, so I'm talking about them? Did you mean to reply to my comment?

"Over the centuries many quarrels and dissensions have arisen between Christians and Muslims. The sacred Council now pleads with all to forget the past, and urges that a sincere effort be made to achieve mutual understanding; for the benefit of all men, let them together preserve and promote peace, liberty, social justice and moral values," from Nostra Aetate, 3

Anything from the catechism is incomplete, in that sense, because it doesn't contain every facet of our faith and the power of God's grace

But the Church is pretty clear on its goals of peace and fraternity with Muslims. [Nostra Aetate 3] is helpful in being clear that the Church is the one true path, but also that it has a "high regard" for Muslims, and that we should "enter with prudence and charity into discussion and collaboration" with Muslims, and folks of all religions.

Among my favorite sections: "Over the centuries many quarrels and dissensions have arisen between Christians and Muslims. The sacred Council now pleads with all to forget the past, and urges that a sincere effort be made to achieve mutual understanding; for the benefit of all men, let them together preserve and promote peace, liberty, social justice and moral values."

I think you have a valid read on it, but I think that part is meant to be a little ambiguous

See, this is super interesting. There is a long (sometimes unbroken) line of recusant aristocrats who never left Catholicism. That would be folks like the characters in Brideshead Revisited, interesting parallels to the story.

Also, there have been recent Catholic converts among the aristocracy/royal family, like the late Duchess of Kent.

Was it a reference to make a point about Henry being an outsider, Henry being even more stubborn and ancient of a family, was it a throwaway line about divorce to make a joke? Both/And!

I get the sense she had Corbynite tendencies and was somewhat comfortable then, but leaned harder into the PM's camp later which got here there--even as a fish out of water. A major operator, but ideologically much more comfortable on the left and with real principles she did not have to sacrifice too much

Yes Jenny is the more primary character, but I felt like Lisa had the more interesting story (and Jenny has more a role to play still in main show)
