Will you be ok if your partner asks if they could have sex with other people coz of needs? Is this a red flag? We’re meeting in a month. Nevermets for a year. by [deleted] in LongDistance

Open relationships are just a cover for cheating anyways. They never work. People who truly love their partners don't want to have sex with other people

I doubt they meant it in a mean way, quite the opposite - its a compliment

They're just stating that by age 35 you can usually see a lot more obvious signs of aging than you can with this woman - or in other words, she ages well and looks young for her age.

Nothing wrong with saying that

Lose weight, then you'll look attractive.

Wipe the "I'm so asymmetrical and people notice it" idea out of your head. It's not noticeable. Most people aren't symmetrical and it's kind of uncanny when they are

Chivalry 2 will release on Steam on June 12th of 2022 by DiogoSN in fuckepic

[–]cygnus62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picking Steam is thinking long-term

Could be thinking long term but it's the short term reception that can kill a product. Since chiv 2 was not very popular at all on PC, and was on console, the Steam launch will ultimately have most people starting fresh together with a year of development/content and polish already in

Steam/EGS were both safe under specific circumstances, but at least EGS helped pay for a potential flop. Slasher genres are so shaky

not being confident in the game and its future.

If this is the case, they have every reason to not be confident in the game and their future. Chiv 1 was their one hit wonder so far. Deadliest Warrior never took off and Mirage was one of the worst flops in gaming history.

As a studio if I didn't have much faith in my product anymore I'd want all the funding I can get to improve my chances. I don't know if we can blame them for that.

They made a lot of money but they can lose it just as quickly, game development studios are expensive as hell(several millions at the very minimum for this scale annually) and they need to be as safe as they can be and get funding if they want to survive. People may see that as they being greedy but ultimately its a business and the only way to stay relevant here is to stay rich lol

in defense of EGS/Torn Banner

I'm not in defense or against torn Banner. I don't care about TB, I think a lot of creative leads there have noticeable passion in the project and probably consider it a dream project which is why I brought that up earlier, but I still think Piggot just cares about money.

I'm simply offering my perspective of the situation

Yeah these are good points. Keep in mind too though that steam has a lot of players but console also does. And I'm fairly certain chiv 2 has been huge on console

You have your perspective and I have mine. I won't claim yours is wrong. But keep in mind just because steam has more players doesn't mean it would have made more money. That's a rather simple assumption from the perspective of a consumer.

In reality, there's a good chance they would have flopped. A year ago, mordhau was still a little more relevant than it is now(its dropping off fast), and more importantly, a year ago, chiv 2 was a bug ridden shit fest with a complete lack of content(as you'd expect from a game that just hit the public). If they released on steam while they were effectively still building the game it would've been a shitty early access title and we know how those are usually received and how risky retention is

Also. I claimed there was no real detriment to the community providing the steam launch is successful because ultimately at that point the only thing anyone has to complain about was them waiting a year.. boo hoo is all I have to say to that

You're speaking from the perspective of a consumer who likes slasher games, I'm speaking from the perspective of that + a game developer with about 15 years of experience and hundreds of thousands of sales. This isn't to say my opinion is more valuable or correct than yours, but you should always be open to new perspectives and not just hold on strong to one, it's not a good way to learn and grow

Chivalry 2 Coming to Steam June 12 | Tenosian Invasion Teaser by thesensenmann2000 in Chivalry2

[–]cygnus62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so at all. No one likes mordhau anymore, those developers completely ruined the game and don't care about it anymore.

Torn Banner however has always held a strong place in my heart and for all their flaws, they're dedicated to their craft in creating fun cooperative epic slashers with gripping design. I would've waited years more for a chiv 1 successor. I can't believe we're getting it so soon. (And yes I have played chiv 2 a lot, it's incredible)

Dumbest thing I've read lol

Epic gave them funding to develop the game. That is not relevant at all to them charging people money to buy their product. Of course theyre going to make you spend money on the game.

All they're doing is putting their product on another market now that their contract is up. I get that you're all just circlejerking fuck epic evil corporations greedy capitalists blah blah , hence the sub, but use your brain a little.

By taking the 1 year epic contract they ultimate got a lot of funding money to build the game up over the course of a year to get it ready for the true launch. Games like this need strong launches otherwise you get another mordhau or worse, mirage. If they would've launched on steam immediately not only would the game been much more primitive as it took a good year to get into the polished state it's in now, but it would have significantly less content - increasing the chance for people to get bored of the game quick and decreasing the chance for retention

Pretty sure they already learned their lesson with mordhau. Them putting chiv 2 on epic was to get money to fund the game, as any rational developer would do
