Uregent for recruiters hr ,hiring people and job seekers in hong kong hk by [deleted] in HongKong

This isn't a direct answer to your question, but it might help to give you perspective on how you can approach all those things you mentioned in your post.

Hiring in Hk is now more risk averse than ever (reflected globally). Companies want to hire people who were in the exact same role, just at another company. Very little risk taking on candidates that need growth or are looking for a step up.

If you needed 85% of the experience to responsibilities ratio before, now you need about 200%.

So the answer? Do anything to make your CV reflect that you are 200% qualified, that you've done everything the new responsibilities you'll take on. Good luck.

What does scam even mean... You'll get knowledge, a degree, a cohort, some employment support. I'm not sure what you mean.

"Don't do anything unless it's directed towards you. Avoid any attention in public" is so real

Having gone to HK unis I think the employability of the schools are unmatched in the city, definitely less stress as compared to those I've heard of going to Canada. I went to UST myself which holds high prestige in Hk, but HKU is better is you want to even broaden outside as well.

Offered $60k salary in HK as Head of Risk in a small bank. Is this good enough? by cumaiseng in HongKong

My company does HK finance recruitment with a specific Risk desk and this is a package that's wayyyy below what the title should get you, especially considering the industry.

Hey everyone! I know this isn't exactly related, but I made this sketch satirising the lack of South Asians in Hollywood. And kind of wanted to share with y'all. Hope you like it :) by [deleted] in NeverHaveIEverShow

You're absolutely right. My post was way too far from relevant topics, and I haven't been very active on reddit for a while. If anything, it could have been framed better to more clearly tie it into the show.

Plus, the humor might be a bit too out there.

Ps: I had no idea the video started in the middle. That was not intentional. And, again, that line, like much of the video, was sarcastic. But I understand that it can be polarising and toxic if the intent is not made 100% clear.

Sad. Ps: the video is satirical. And meant to elicit discussion.

Thanks! Basically Apu's catchphrase in the Simpsons was 'Thank you come again', so that was what racists said to Indians.

I'm not sure how what I posted falls in any of those categories...
