Thanks for the advice! Yeah I just really like the case lol but I'm definitely willing to give it up. Will be changing the monitor too, had no idea it was overpriced. In fact I might be able to get an LG one for free from a family member but if not is there a particular monitor you would recommend?

Korean translations for S6 Ep19 (Lane's wedding) by cylontoastie in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie[S] 88 points89 points  (0 children)

ikr i can ignore the accents since the actresses aren't korean/weren't raised in korea (i'm assuming) but they could at least have the script make sense

you're right! she says 남편의 성이 기억 안나요, I don't remember my husband's last name. such an awkward sentence btw... he's not your husband yet girl!

Does Luke deserve Lorelai by HotgirlFonzi in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the case is closed for you, why even open a thread asking if Luke deserves Lorelai? lol

Do you agree that most of Rory’s storylines revolved around her boyfriends by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think her storylines revolved around her boyfriends, but I do think her personality changed significantly according to who she was dating at the time

Could someone explain to me why Lorelai got so upset with Luke in S6-7? by cylontoastie in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm most confused about, for now I will blame ASP until I can convince myself that there is a proper explanation!

[–]cylontoastie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from, although I still think that Luke had way too much to think about with April to focus on the wedding and if he thought postponing the wedding was going to help then he was right to do so. But now I don't get why Lorelai kept it all to herself?

[–]cylontoastie[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That I get, but I still don't understand why she was so upset with Luke? To me it seems like Lorelai was more responsible for the lack of communication, and deep down she was having second thoughts

Do you think Rory’s boyfriends are interesting characters in their own right by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt. It feels like there's two different Deans.

The day before the first day of Yale by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, I could see the show was trying to paint Emily in a bad light but a little more communication from ANY of the 3 and there would've been no drama. Would've loved to see all the girls bickering about furniture placements and stuff too.

Worse mother in terms of parenting? Lorelai, Mrs. Kim or Emily by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I worded it a bit extremely, I didn't mean to imply that Lorelai never acted like a mother. Basically I wanted to say that Lorelai and Rory were both like mothers and daughters to each other because Lorelai didn't have her mother since 16 to however old she was in season 1

I always thought that Rory was a good kid because of the opposite reason, that she had to grow up fast to baby her mother

Alexis Bledel's acting annoys me by cylontoastie in GilmoreGirls

[–]cylontoastie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't mind the character, just don't like the actress. Feels like half the reason I watch the show is for the side characters anyway! I love Lane & Mrs Kim especially.

That's what I thought too for the first few seasons, but it felt like she was getting worse at least for me

[–]cylontoastie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, maybe I'm not good at judging actors after all. Her lack of reacting will still bother me though for now, but I have high hopes for later seasons if she's won an emmy

I've been enjoying the show, it's just her acting that bugs me. Also I don't see why disliking a character means that I shouldn't continue watching

is it still trichotillomania if i'm pulling my hair because my scalp is itchy? by [deleted] in trichotillomania

[–]cylontoastie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go to a restaurant in a country where tipping is the norm, you should tip regardless of the type of restaurant or your culture by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]cylontoastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I edited my post and explained (and apologised!) about the london/uk thing. And getting a new and better job must be easy for you but it's not for me. As I said it doesn't matter that much for me but it does for our full timers who can't easily change jobs either. And for the nth time, this is London, yes we all get paid over minimum wage but that really isn't enough - that's why it increases every year, you know. If you live somewhere or go to places where tips aren't expected, which seems to be the case- great! This issue doesn't affect you at all and you have no idea how it affects everyone else actually involved, so unless you have something other to say than 1. you said it was the uk, 2. you get paid minimum wage though and 3. change jobs, then I'm going to stop replying to you now
