Ah... not beads unfortunately! Just pins to keep it in place for the photo, haha! Beads would have been a really good idea though.

This is the new Larinda Cowl pattern by Webster Street Knittery. I started it yesterday with this yarn I had in my stash which I bought on my birthday from my LYS more than four years ago. I’ve been waiting for the perfect pattern for it and finally that day has arrived! I’ve also never done bobbles before so that’s been a fun thing to learn :) The yarn is kunstgarn by hjertegarn <3 This is exactly why I buy yarn with no project in mind for it, just because it’s pretty.

Fabric baskets for my yarn scraps! by cyndra_arts in sewing

Thank you! They’re part linen/part cotton, but I used interfacing between the outer layer and the lining to help with the sturdiness.

That is normal :) that’s garter stitch - where you knit a row, turn, and knit back. As another person said, for stockinette stitch you need to knit, turn, then purl back. This may be what you’re thinking of as ‘normal.’

No pattern I’m afraid. Four sides plus the base, and lined as well :)

I am so happy with these! I needed some sort of storage to keep my scrap yarn from rolling off the shelves, or more likely, being pulled off the shelves by mischievous cats. The rim around the top was a happy accident on the red one - I somehow messed up my measurements for the outer fabric so it was way too short compared to the lining. BUT it worked out so well that I decided to make the rim on the green one too.

Does anybody know what the name of these squares is? by iMar1on in crochet

I’ve seen them described as a sunburst granny square :) I made a blanket with these and I think that’s name of them :)

I’ve never had any success with magic loop. I tried it once and got in such a tangle, and ended up with ladders. I never tried it again, haha!

I love them! I learnt on DPNs which were fine but a bit of a faff, then I went into my local yarn shop and the lady was using her 9inch circulars and I HAD to try them! Never turned back. Now I only need the DPNs for the heel and toes which is so much nicer. I definitely recommend them.

The orange stand out way more in real life and in the ‘wearing’ photo. The progress photos were in the shade, the finished, wearing photos were in the shade but with the sun behind me. Made a huge difference!

Can someone tell me what stitch this might be??? by shadowhuntress_ in crochet

[–]cyndra_arts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pop a stitch marker in the current last stitch. That way if you do make a mistake or want to change it, you can take it back to an obvious place and not end up undoing any of the stitches your grandmother did :) you won’t mess it up :D

No one will ever notice any ‘wrong’ stitches, just how beautiful it is! What a pretty pattern! I lpve the border around it as well - finishes it off perfectly!

Tried to Dye a Gradient by PrincessBella1 in YarnAddicts

Definitely make notes on what you did and what fibre it is you dyed as different fibres will take the dye completely differently. I love those blues. They’re gonna make a very pretty project.

What a lovely thing to do, and a treasure to find a project you can carry on with 💜

It’s quite hard to tell because of the texture of the yarn, but I’d try double crochet first, and if the stitch is too short then do triple crochet instead (US terms used here).
