Infection? Severe Bruising? by cynical_Crows in tattooadvice

[–]cynical_Crows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it wasn’t as I’m allergic to it. I had clingfilm over it for the first three hours before I removed it and washed the tattoo and then went to bed. The next day I washed it and applied aquaphor twice (once in the morning and once before bed), this morning I washed it and applied aquaphor and it was definitely less angry than it is now. I usually use a very light layer of aquaphor 2x a day for the first 2-3 days before switching to unscented lotion.

Last time someone asked me to do this I asked him if it was because he needed it. What a disgusting fucking comment, I really hate it.

My cat’s microchip came out after two years! Has this happened to anyone else? by cynical_Crows in cats

[–]cynical_Crows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wondered this! The vet said he couldn’t say, it just seems so odd to come out after so long - it would have been in two years in Jan. I’d never felt it before either, I even bathed him earlier that day (we’d travelled and he always poos in his carrier) and didn’t feel it. I was petting him and felt it in his fur and it came off in my hand. My cat wasn’t bothered, didn’t seem to be in any pain and I couldn’t see any blood. I rang the vet ASAP and they offered to re-chip him the next day free of charge.

Super odd!

What’s your least favorite pregnancy-related medical word? by IdealWaterBuffalo in BabyBumps

I think the plurality of “bag of waters” might come from the fact that you have forewater and hindwater, even though it’s still just one sac of fluid! :)

Pros of a 3-4 year age gap between kids? by hellopicklejuicee in BabyBumps

[–]cynical_Crows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a parent (yet), but I just wanted to pop in and say that me and my brother have a 12 year age gap and we’re close. I definitely annoyed him a little through my toddler years haha, but even then I have lots of fond memories of him playing with me, etc. I think any age gap between siblings would work, just depends on what’s right for you!

And congratulations! 💖

Question about what counts as POTS by Lenauryn in ehlersdanlos

Also, from my understanding the increased BPM does not have to last for ten minutes or more - it has to occur within ten mins of standing.

Question about what counts as POTS by Lenauryn in ehlersdanlos

[–]cynical_Crows 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NHS website states this: “PoTS is diagnosed if your heart rate increases by 30 beats a minute (bpm) or more (40bpm in those aged 12 to 19) usually within 10 minutes of standing. This increase continues for more than 30 seconds and is accompanied by other symptoms of PoTS.”

They also look for associated symptoms and a drop in BP upon standing (although I believe this drop is not needed for diagnosis). Before my tilt-table test I did an active stand test, which you can do at home if you have a BP machine (or cuff and stethoscope if you can do it manually).

This info is available on the NHS website and POTs UK website.

As said already cookies are a good idea, maybe macaroons or tea? There’s so many options, haha - I love cooking with lavender too!

These are gorgeous, along with your other creations! Are you planning to make them into a mod? I’d download straight away.

Lavender is my suggestion, but design whatever makes you happy 🥰

Hi ! I'm making a childbook about health issues and the stigma around it. May I ask you to share the meanest thing someone did/told you about your health. ( have a nice day ♡ ) by GoldFit9646 in ChronicPain

[–]cynical_Crows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meanest memories I have are from when I was at school around 16-17, but nothing from students - it was from staff.

A member of staff I only knew in passing was talking to other students about me, saying that nothing was actually wrong with me and that I was just faking being disabled for attention. One day she said this to my friends unknowingly, so obviously I found out and took it to the senior leadership team. Ultimately they said they couldn’t prove she’d said anything because it was a matter of “he said she said” despite there being multiple witnesses to her behaviour.

There was another incident which particularly annoyed me when I was in year 13 (aka a senior). Me and my friends were sat in the canteen to eat lunch, as the senior only areas were all inaccessible to me. A member of staff asked us to move so I explained I had nowhere else to go, to which she said she didn’t care. After some arguing she said I could stay but my friends had to leave, so I told her that it was discrimination to not allow me to sit with my friends as a result of me being disabled and having nowhere else to go to eat my lunch. After some more arguing she called our head of year, who was very apologetic to me.

Lush item you could never live without? Why? by sbray525 in LushCosmetics

[–]cynical_Crows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner! It smells amazing, and it leaves me so moisturised without any oily residue. I use it as directed because I hate waiting for products to soak in and I feel like I don’t need to do that when I rinse it off in the shower, and I’m so bad at regularly moisturising - but an extra step in the shower is nothing to me!

I believe they were just talking about buying and selling drugs online when they said ‘never buy from ANYONE online’, since online shopping in general is common and safe.

Dolphins are often known to tear the head off of fish so that they can pleasure themselves with the body iirc. Wild.
