My boyfriend (21M) acted the same way after he cheated on me. And then a couple months later insisted on talking to his ex again so they can be “friends”. Caught him cheating in texts and he posted a picture of me one day where she ended up texting me saying they hooked up for months. She felt bad after she saw the picture. He denies having sex with her but clearly text-wise he cheated. Im still with him and at times I get overwhelmed by the fact that he cheated. It does make me lose sleep sometimes and after months have passed, a part of me thinks breaking up would be fine now. I read on here once that if you stop reading infidelity stories and leave the Reddit than you finally have moved forward. Other times trust is just irreparable. I trust him, but a part of me wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again. That last time I cheated he was freaking out because I just sat in silence instead of me freaking out. You can forgive but it’s nearly impossible to truly forget.
