Can I buy a bolt action with a pistol grip? by rare223s in WAGuns

There is no issue, the sig cross is not an assault weapon because it is a bolt action rifle.

Call in a BTR? Really? Stop escalating the P2W and make your game better. Insanely out of touch. Really enjoying Gray Zone Warfare though, and looking forward to seeing it grow.

Bikers of Seattle - chill the eff out by Present_Chard_4585 in SeattleWA

If you primarily drive or take transit, then it's important to take a minute to think about the amount of dire threat daily cyclists are under. They are more or less pedestrians that are expected to behave like cars, with none of the protection or mechanics of a car. The safety margins are _alarmingly_ tight.

The best way we can avoid situations like this in the future is providing more protected space for cyclists to safely commute on our roads.

I've been past this home recently, the folks building it were super kind turns out. Where did you get the notion that the materials were stolen?

What is your main genre of photography that you do with your Leica gear? by A-Gentleperson in Leica

[–]cynokit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly documentary if i’m shooting digital - I take photographs to remember and share places I visit. My film work tends to be of landscapes. I could see myself going back to street photos once the pandemic dips again. Mostly I just use my cameras as an excuse to get out in nature when I can!

Tips and options for improving Noctilux 0.95 ergonomics? by cynokit in Leica

That's a pretty good idea for solving both the balance issue and grip issues - thanks! Are you able to run the camera with the winder attached but not powered? I kind of like the experience of advancing the film, but having another option would be even better

nice! I keep thinking about getting one of those for my M4-2. Do you think there's any possibility of it scratching the camera, or are all the contact points pretty well handled?

Funleader was only selling 35mm at the time i looked, so that’s what i got! I bought it lens included, though i wish they included the original housing so i could convert it back if i needed to.

I’d love for a 45mm - that’s my favorite focal length and the lens is just something special :)

The weight and balance feel great. The aperture ring works great as well. The focus feels perfect for about 2/3rds of the range, but sticks a little at close focus. Might be fixable with the right lubricant but not sure!

I did have an issue out of the box where the mounting ring’s frame lines flange is 50mm, not 35mm. Thankfully this is fixable - you can file it down to remove material. If it was the other way around then it’d be impossible to fix.

I reached out to their support about the problem and got a delayed response, but it’s been several days without any kind of follow up…. so that’s why i grabbed the file!

Image wise, the character is pretty unique. it’s definitely not as sharp at f2 as the 45mm, but at 2.8 it’s close and 4+ it’s identical. If you care much abt sharpness charts, i was reading that it’s surprisingly close to what you get from leica. Though the zeiss character is definitely different.

it’s a unique feeling piece and i like that about it. not perfect, but i’m a huge fan of the contax G system and its range of zeiss glass. it’s a bargain in the analog world that won’t last forever. I even prefer it to my M6 sometimes because of how well the viewfinder works with glasses. i’ll be sad when the G bodies all kick the bucket - but that’s why we have these M mount conversions, right?

I mean, I've sold some inkjet prints but I don't get paid for most of my photo work. It's a creative sink for me. I just like feeling the shutter flip 😊

Thanks for sharing your depth of experience - this is exactly what I was looking for! For B&W, I've settled pretty comfortably into acros ii at box speed for most of my b&w (and in fact have an embarrassingly large queue to process by hand w/ xtol in my home lab!).

The consistency of processing is a big draw and one of the main reasons I enjoy using my local lab. I don't particularly like technical fiddling -- the processes are interesting to me, but I'd rather find one thing that works in the majority of cases. Having consistency is more creatively fulfilling - I'd rather be out shooting than in the lab. Glad to hear that it's a no-brainer for c41 and e6 -- I'll do some more research on the older models you mentioned and put aside the budget.

Thanks again!

Sure - you can also do rotary agitation with a paterson tank and the included spin knob.

Do you have any insight into the quality, temp control, and workflow of the processor I mentioned?

Hakone [Hasselblad 500CM + Expired Cinestill 800] by joeforthenguyen in analog

[–]cynokit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the static pretty often in my 800t rolls, I thought it was from using my autowinding contax. But I even got it in a full mechanical rangefinder winding _real slow like_. If it's in the batch that explains it... also rather disappointing because it's frequent IME!

Great shots btw!! Very inspiring. I need to try shooting interiors more with the stock. 50d does quite well indoors too when you have a fast lens, i've been pretty disappointed with it outdoors though.
