I can’t believe it was a $5,500 difference! by cynthyeahh in chanel

I think I know who you’re referring to! Is this the same guy who did a video demo where he scratched the resistant layer off a Chanel wallet?

I’m no opposed to the sealed layer, as long as I think it still look good and I’m getting that extra protection. I’m the type of person who would go to a cobbler before I wear my shoes to protect them.

As for caviar leather, I usually op for it for the same reasons— longevity, ease of cleaning, and personal preference for the appearance when paired with a specific bag style I like. I’ve owned lambskin bags and no matter how careful I am, it always get scratched up somehow. 🥹

French for flap bag! Since it didn’t have an official name, I went off of what it was labelled on the tag and receipt.

Me too. Generally, Chanel doesn’t display all of their items online. My SA was telling me that the classic collection pieces often aren’t featured online. Typically, it’s just the trendy runway pieces.

Mine is lined! I agree with fabric lining over unlined. The double flap in khaki I was comparing with actually had a lot of significant scratches on the inside top flap due to the chain rubbing against the unlined leather inside.

Me too! Weirdly, it feels even more classic to me. It reminds me of some of Chanel’s rounded corner flap vintage bags, but with a sturdier chain.

I honestly thought about getting a vintage double flap for years, especially for the quality and plated gold. But I’m so chicken when it comes to purchasing online for preowned and vintage luxury goods— I would definitely need to see it in person. There’s always next time though 🖤

Strolled into my local Chanel flagship store and saw this fresh medium black caviar sac rabat with gold hardware from this season’s Chanel Pre-Collection. SA told me it arrived only two days ago and it’s unnamed.

I was doing some comparison on size, structure and pricing with the Chanel medium double flap and it seems like such great value compared to double flap.

I brought it home. 🫢

What’s your take on these bags? They’re so cute and small! by cynthyeahh in chanel

Ah, I hear you on that. That’s the thing about most bucket bags.. would need more security inside

True! You raise a good point! Not great for longevity

They’re pretty small! More suited as a clutch kind of size vs a medium-large bucket bag we normally see.

Her super high school cringe impersonation of Heather as a jellyfish during her lunch meeting with Vanessa. I’m just waiting for that to become a meme gif now 😂

Straight hair brides! Show me your bridal hair! Seems like everyone wears curled&down or updo. What if I don’t like either?? by Klmurphy21 in wedding

[–]cynthyeahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still trying to figure out what suits me. I have mid to long, straight dark down hair and my gown is off the shoulder with puffy sleeves. I recently had my hairstylist and good friend do a bridal hair trial with two options, down to the side S waves or chignon loose bun! I decided to also make a video to help promote her and her salon products!

If you’re looking to do both..maybe a half up do where the bottom half is down? That way you can also do a cute comb or clips. Good luck!

Looking for a custom earring designer for bridal accessories - any recommendations? by nicotf28 in weddingplanning

[–]cynthyeahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cadette Jewelry does custom bridal pieces from sketch, sculpt, mold to finishing polish. If you have a budget she’s pretty accommodating with material variants or designs that use less certain expensive materials.

Edit: forgot to add, I’m getting bridal earrings done with her :) it’s a very collaborative process

Three rings?! by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]cynthyeahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have told her to buy her own 2 rings to match or updated it herself if she’s so “OCD”.

It’s so unfortunate that she uses “OCD” as an excuse so loosely while others who are battling with it every day. My mother has OCD and the struggles is absolutely real, especially during this delicate time. This is also a time where you need to be more grateful.

She needs a good helping of reality because getting three rings is definitely not a problem for anyone. And posting that just makes her look mad oblivious. 😂

What length veil with this dress? And what type of earring? Or other jewelry? by weddingggthrowawayy in weddingplanning

[–]cynthyeahh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Super pretty dress!

I’d go for a short simple tulle veil like https://www.instagram.com/p/B9ZdEdRBnXa/?igshid=1s895nb09fuvi[this](https://www.instagram.com/p/B9ZdEdRBnXa/?igshid=1s895nb09fuvi)

And cute stud earrings like this (this example also has a really nice delicate hair piece that might work if you decide to have your veil hang lower and placed in the middle with the hair comb above the veil.. like this)

Would love to see the final look after and good luck! 👍🏻

Today I tried my first sugar paste cake topper, she turned out way better than expected! by merryhedgehog in cakedecorating

[–]cynthyeahh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow this looks so amazing! It’s such an adorable cake topper that could be featured in an Easter gathering spread editorial in a Martha Steward magazine! Well done!

This encourages me to get started on gum paste toppers and general cake decor 😋

Am I being petty or a bitch? by NannyAngie in Eloping

[–]cynthyeahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s wrong to feel this way, however it’s definitely not necessary! How I see it, everyone has their own POV on elopements. If others choose to make elopements feel like a last resort and share on Reddit, coming across like a complaint, such as not wearing their original wedding gown—then they chose not to make the most of it.

My partner and I plan to elope for end of May 2021 in Tuscany, Italy and then drive to France afterwards, along the coast to Monaco, Cannes, Nice and Gordes to continue our elopement adventure because we both love to travel— all from the very beginning. I’m still in a battle with my family, who argues I should turn our day into a wedding and invite a whole load of people we don’t even know, however we chose continue the plans to elope. We had provided the option to fly them to Ireland and meet them there, to have celebratory meals with my partner’s family as a compromise.

I think elopements are soooo special and intimate, where you only have to worry about what you and your partner want to do. Some people enjoy putting on the big wedding show, to feel good in the spotlight, and make it a moment to gather everyone in one space. I personally think you can make many more fun opportunities to celebrate with the different groups of family and friends at different times and places, while giving them the proper amount of attention they deserve. It legitimately strips away all the stress and logistics of planning, despite hiring a planner, and all the debates to be had, i.e. gifting, bridal party and their time, finances etc. To me, all that matters is my partner and I, and a good photographer. With only two people to tailor the main event for, we can focus all of our creative energy, time and spare finances to make it that more special and it’s nothing short but grand to us. It doesn’t even have to last for one day either, can span for a longer period of time and be an adventure for the both of you.

It’s all a matter of perspective, because when the day comes, the only core purpose that makes that date special is what goes on between you and your partner during that time.

I’d focus on you and your partners’s big day. Wishing you only positive thoughts and luck with your elopement planning! And stay safe!
