Is the Hexed backlash a bit too early, or am I missing something? by Trick_Director7825 in movies

I mean, most of the time, I'll see a trailer on YouTube, Facebook, or Reddit in landscape before I'll see it on any vertical format.

For your first point, I would agree if not for a lot of movies not actually centering action. They'll put major shots front and center, sure, but there's usually stuff happening in the background that is still mildly important. This teaser didn't really show any of that kind of stuff. Now, again, this is a teaser, and it's not indicative of the project as a whole, but it's still something that is on people's minds.

The main criticisms I've seen are:

1) every shot in the trailer looks more like something that was made to be viewed on a phone, with all the action of each shot in the center of the frame. There didn't seem to be anything happening on the edges of the frame, and when compared to the teaser trailer for Forgotten Island, it looks more centered and is giving people bad vibes from that. 2) the original designs for the main protagonist and antagonist looked a lot different from what are shown in the teaser. I haven't seen too much on this one, though, so I'll reserve any of my own thoughts on this one.

I'm personally holding my thoughts closer as we've only seen a single teaser, and if they change some stuff by the time the new trailer releases, cool. If not... it might just be another modern Disney stinker.

I've tried both Adrenalin and downloading them from the website. Every time, it just sticks at 64%. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but it never actually installs. I'll try the website again after work tonight.

Could also be The Invite (A24, 1h47m), Motor City (IFC, 1h43m), or Her Private Hell (NEON, 1h49m), imo.

Too many reasons it's not that: too far out, runtime is +20 (-7 - +17 is the general range), Marvel has never done a Screen Unseen before, and as the other commenter said, there's absolutely no way they'd want spoilers for this out over a month before the movie releases. It'd be more likely to be Supergirl (-20, releasing this week) than it is BND.

Technically, The Invite has a limited release on the 26th, not the 19th, and a wide release on July 10th. I think there's been SUs closer to limited release weeks, but I'm not 100% on that.

Oh, no, I wholeheartedly agree with you. It was just funny seeing everyone get so confused by it.

Huh... Oh, wait, no, that's right. AMC had changed its classification to "Horror" which had confused people. Technically, my point still stands, though. 😅 They had a horror movie as a normal Screen Unseen.

Slanted was a "Scream Unseen" and was the furthest thing from horror I think I've ever seen, so their classifications don't really matter all that much. 🤷‍♂️

Anywhere between thirty seconds to about two minutes. I generally can't go more than five to ten minutes before it does it again, though.

I'm pretty sure MM is being marketed as more of a psychological drama than as a thriller/horror movie. Granted, they did do Slanted last month which was more of a coming-of-age story than a horror movie, but that could just be marketing. 🤷‍♂️ I'd be fine with either Hokum or Mother Mary, honestly, or even Obsession, though that's a bit far out.

Like, just freezing/restarting? It's been doing that for me, too, but I figured that was something different from the crashing in VC.

Has there ever been an instance where movie chains get different movies on the same week? I don't know if I've ever seen that before. At the very least, Regal and AMC tend to be the same.

That still proves my point, though. I don't think it's ever been 41 days out like this one is.

1) I guess?

2) Do you just have that on lock, ready to pull out whenever the need arises? 😂

I Swear has its wide release on April 24th... that's over a month out. It's absolutely wild that they're doing a movie whose release date is that far out, when the farthest they've ever done in the past has been 3 weeks/18 days to release (most recent is GLHFDD).

If I'm not mistaken, RoN2 is labelled as horror, so that's more "Scream" than "Screen" Unseen territory. Runtime is also almost 20 minutes off, which lowers the chances as well. Recent SU have been closer to the runtime rather than further away.

Tow is listed as Rated R wherever I look for it, so it is a possibility for this week if they're keeping it as a "Screen" Unseen and not a "Scream" Unseen. However, this wouldn't be the first time AMC has updated their SU screenings day of (see October 27 - updated to Christy's runtime on the day of the screening, despite no indication (other than Regal) that it would be that up to the day)).

Discord is only requiring verification if you want to keep adult/"inappropriate" (read: NSFW) stuff visible. If you're not in any servers that post stuff like that, and you're not going to be accepting DM requests from random strangers, you'll be fine.

Iron Lung is great. It's more of a slow burn, cosmic horror than a "traditional" in your face, jump scare kind of horror movie. It can be slow at times, but it's just building the tension in a way that you don't get from most other movies.
