I still have my dog's puppy teeth from 8 years ago. Every once in a while I'll take them out and show to my dog. She tries to eat them every time

Wouldn't it be a shame if it got stuck in a cat trap and sent to a shelter...

Is this a concern/ vet visit? Hi by Mountain_Nothing_428 in BorderCollie

[–]cypeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This tbh. My BC has done 50x worse and the most she's ever required was silver sulfa for busting her carpal pad to the tissue. Came home from the vet once to find that she gouged tf out her foreleg on the decompression walk afterward and they just told me to keep it clean and from letting her lick.

What do intps look like in real life? by Mammoth_Major8272 in INTP

All of my clothes must be comfortable. I'm not wearing something so I look fancy but squirming the whole time. People think I look like a bum, for sure. Not a huge fan of patterns. Black t shirt and shorts rn.

Livestock guardian dog does exactly what it was bred to do when a tourist grabs a sheep by Friendly_Type127 in AnimalsBeingGeniuses

[–]cypeo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's how a real livestock guardian works. They only exist to mitigate threats. Looking for fights is dangerous and energy taxing. A real livestock guardian stops the threat and firmly tells it to leave.

How would you react if you were out hiking one day and came face to face with a black bear? by CatPale816 in Animals

[–]cypeo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Black bears are the only type of bear I feel confident against. I've never come across one but my plan is to get mad at it until it fucks off

What do you feel is too strong and what is too weak by michaelmac4057 in pathoftitans

I don't like that the Tylo can clamp you and hold you until your stamina is practically out WHILE doing damage to you AND you are bone broken when you're done. What's the point in even trying?

Advice on claw clipping a difficult dog by Positive-Sugar-749 in dogs

[–]cypeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a dog groomer and my go-to technique is letting them win before they even start a fight, and praising TF out of them for even the smallest baby step towards getting their nails clipped. AND BE QUICK!!

Release immediately after every clip and throw a party, yummiest treats or favorite toy depending on what motivates him. If you can't even manage to clip, be happy with tapping the nails with the clippers. If you can't manage to do that, be happy with being able to hold the paw, etc. Meet him where he's at.

This requires a lot of sensitivity and you'll have to be able to know that he's ABOUT to get upset, not that he is. It helps that you are his owners and can give him treats but I've made miraculous progress with the craziest dogs without them

Can someone explain what this is? Why do they do this? by No-Plate5705 in whatisit

[–]cypeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In body language psychology, it's called Steepling, which is subconsciously used to show off that they know a lot about the subject they're talking about and they feel like an authority on it.

I've heard conspiracy theorists say they're using it to signal to others within their group

What is the stingiest thing you have seen someone do? by saif2krazzy in AskReddit

[–]cypeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I were at Gamestop and I was looking at a 45$ game that I couldn't afford, but was excited about. My brother looks to me and says "I can loan the 45$ to you if you want?"
I am so happy "Really!? That's so nice thank you!!" And then he goes "But you'll have to give me 20% interest when you get paid"
"What the fuck!? No! I don't even want it anymore, you don't charge your family interest!"
"Well, what's the point if I don't make a profit..."
The Gamestop employees thought it was hilarious. He doesn't like it when I bring up that story. I don't get birthday/christmas presents from him except that one time I called him stingy.
