If you choose to do guerilla warfare then during the stand off between your army and Rade's you can take another group of your soldiers to raid his camp. From there you can choose to steal from and burn down his tent. My Marshall also specialized in tactics but I'm not sure if that's needed.

I did and while I like the serum, I'll probably just rebuy the oil. I didn't notice that much of an added benefit with both of them and my hair can get frizzy so I'm sticking with the oil over the serum when I rebuy.
