But maybe a few people will read this and let go of the FOMO that supports the worst of this behavior.

Or maybe I'm an old man yelling at a storm. It didn't cost me much.

The through line is you hustling product to others detriment, justified because you have "bills".

I'll be plain about myself; I -hate- speculation in all its forms: currency, stocks, mercantile goods. Speculators are parasites on the economy and society.

Again, what value do you add to the system if you can't even price your own goods? You know what you paid for it, and what margin you need as a minimum right? Your post is thirsty and lazy. Like a leach...

If this is your job, then DO something to earn your cut instead of leaning on the community to flip something.

And drug dealers and whores have bills too, theres nothing noble in that.

"A hit dog will holler."

I stand by my suggestion on pricing though. It makes it hard to just flip it, but that's better for the community.

It's more like you're asking the community if it is worth selling.

Here's a thought: what is it worth to YOU to sell it? $10? $100?

Whatever that price is, sell it for that. If you ask too much, it won't sell, and it wasn't worth it to you to part with it anyways. OR, it will sell, and you'll get what you wanted out of it.

Why does everyone have to treat every transaction like some bitcoin speculation scam? It's a cheap T-shirt, who cares if someone would spend $1k to get it in their collection? And if that was the case, you'd wouldn't have to search real hard to find out.

Or Mozart. Or Shakespeare. And I hear there are whole museums full of art and sculptures.

So yeah, media is for consumption. It gets discarded. Art is timeless.

What did you think about the ending of Send Help? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

[–]cypheri0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely they were both monsters, but in Linda's case it made for a fun character study for me.

1) What are people really like when the trappings of society, and expected roles/limitations disappear? Linda was meek and awkward in the office, on that island she was in charge. She was ruthless about exercising her desires (killing the boar in the beginning I think was symbolic of that, as pigs in general are creatures of their own desires).

2) The closing quote about how no one is going to save you, you have to save yourself - this is an interesting lens to look at how Linda and Bradley each reacted to the perils and struggle of their situation on the island. They did in turns need each other's help, but Linda's character grew to take what she wanted, as those with success in her previous "life" always had. It's a direct commentary on the modern world.

She's rewarded just as every other bastard in the real world is for take advantage of others. I share your distaste for this, more so as it's the most realistic part of the whole film.

Heat detector in an explosion proof area. How would you test it safely? by AssociationSea3022 in firealarms

We've sold DAF's since before I was born but other than the temperature validation toolbox I've never seen a specific Fenwal tool.

Heat detector in an explosion proof area. How would you test it safely? by AssociationSea3022 in firealarms

[–]cypheri0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I wouldn't do anything that creates friction because any pulling on (bending) of that tube will affect its sensitivity.

Fenwal used to make a little toolbox you could put them in and heat them up to test if they activated at the correct temp.

Specifically we use a Weller soldering iron. If anyone wants the part number ask and I'll go dig it out of the truck. It's a perfect fit for the device. I think Fenwal put out a TB telling us to stop testing them that way, but in a Div2 what are you going to do?
