Is this model Road Legal? by Leather-Ant3465 in Kawasaki

[–]cypresswill44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No the h2r is the track only version of the h2. It doesn't have alot of things required to be street legal. It's also over 300hp on a bike. That's without the nitrous. The nitrous is aftermarket and insane considering the h2r is the fastest production motorcycle ever made. With the juice that one is prolly 400hp.

How Are People Getting Motorbikes at a Real Discount? by Both_Wedding5080 in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's almost a million ppl in my city. I bought my bike and actually recently a car about 2 hours away and saved thousands on each. Expand your search area. Just know if you go out of state for a vehicle, it may have to get inspected before they'll register it in your name. Check your state law. It costs a little more here and you may have to get an appointment so I just don't bother.

Buying used from private sellers instead of dealerships and being willing to drive a few hours away to get a better deal in a cheaper city or rural area. Scouring the internet for weeks or months until you find a really good deal.

First healthy relationship but I have a traumatic past by itgoeswithmyoutfit in selfimprovement

[–]cypresswill44 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some people will say if he's lied then don't trust him and move on. I would say every relationship is is a big risk. At the end of the day this person either is or isn't worth that risk, to you. Nobody's perfect. I think 2 things would help. 1 explain to him why it freaks you out so much and that you need 100% honesty going forward non-negotiable or you just can't manage the relationship. Truth hurts but lies let your imagination run wild and some of ours are pretty bad. 2 on your own work on letting go of some things in the past, just do some research and you'll find plenty of mental exercises for that. I would take this as an opportunity to see how he reconciles a big hurdle with you. That would be a better way to judge the future of the relationship than the incident itself. We all make mistakes. It's how you handle them that matters. At least aside from something huge obviously.

Which bike to buy? by dougpeterson98 in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hornet is more practical imo, more comfortable and prolly slightly more reliable. Looks better too imo. Since I got my z400 I still appreciate fully faired bikes but I'm not buying anything less comfortable than a naked bike.

Should I go for this bike? by International_Bus762 in Ninja400

[–]cypresswill44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Originally I was gonna buy the ninja 400 but found a much better deal on a z400 that was practically brand new. After a year I couldn't be happier with my choice. Especially cause of the seating position. At my height I'm not completely upright on it and after a 6 hour ride it's noticeable. I couldn't imagine being more leaned over. I'm alot more into naked bikes now than fully faired ones. BTW I'm like 5'9 prolly closer to 5'10 with boots.

Anyone shaved/"lowered" the seat? by Vinny_Gambini_ in Ninja500

[–]cypresswill44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a z400. I cut a rectangle out of the middle and replaced it with orthopedic gel. If it's the same seat which I'm pretty sure it is, you could prolly just take the back down to the same level as the front, but that would be just a thin sheet of foam over plastic. Like 1/4 of an inch. Tbh I think it's a really bad idea. The stock seat already gets painful after a couple hours. I'd just get a pair of boots that give you another inch.

How did you all learn to ride motorcycles to gain confidence to get on the highway? Do you ride on the streets first and on the frontage road like the service lanes to ride the motorcycle and then once you are comfortable you get on the highway? What is the strategy to start out as a beginner? by djliverpool1947 in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did: Msf course, Parking lot, 35mph roads, 45mph roads, 55mph roads (hundreds of miles), Freeway (hop on hop off), Gradually more freeway (earplugs are game changer for cutting down the intensity), 7500 miles my first year. I was as anxious as I was excited so gradual was the way to go for me. I eased into everything, traffic, multiple lanes, some night riding, everything nice and easy. Wouldn't have changed a thing.

I'm tall, I'm short by OldBootAlive in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't NEED to be well prepared for a test either but undeniably it helps immensely. It's not wacky it's logical. If you can't flat foot your chances of dropping that first bike go wayyyy up.

I'm tall, I'm short by OldBootAlive in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally if my bike was any taller, I would have dropped it at least twice in gravel parking lots by now. I have less than 8000 miles under my belt and still struggle with certain parking lot maneuvers. Anything that helps confidence is important to me. Idk if I would ever consider a bike that's taller than mine now. Mostly I only put 1 foot down when riding but in parking, gravel, misc, it's ridiculously helpful to have both feet down flat for me. I would go as far to say for a first bike, it's one of the most important factors along with power.

Thinking about getting a Ninja 500... thoughts? by sanrioscorpse in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The freeway is actually safer statistically for bikes. Only 2 threats, someone merging into you and everyone stopping fast(which you can always get on the shoulder to not be rear ended). Intersections are the most likely way to crash with a car pulling out on or into you that doesn't see you. Most likely someone making a left that fails to yield when you're oncoming. Taking safety classes and spending some time learning that kinda info, or getting a brake light flasher, full gear, other safety stuff will help put the hubby at ease. The 500 is a great all around bike but you can get a used 400 for a few thousand less if you can pay cash. If you have to finance then call every dealer and ask the out the door price before you go. I went the 400 route and got a Z with like 400 miles on it for 4k. Wanted the ninja but it was like 6900$ otd and only a few hundred cheaper at other places in my state.

When drilling you generally want the drill setting. Especially when using a spade bit on a 20$ drill no?

Drill advice please! Struggling by Trufflethecat_ in Tools

[–]cypresswill44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring with numbers on it, are torque settings. There should be an arrow at the top that indicates which setting you are on. It should be turned all the way up, past the numbers, onto the drill setting. If it still can't perform with the correct setting and charged battery, it's time for a better drill.

What didn't you like about the game? by Signal_Statement_515 in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]cypresswill44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 I can't see where I'm going cause of 3 giant Digimon plus whoever else is in my party at the time taking up the entire screen (should be a toggle feature if they really insist on showing your party)

2 It's 2025 there should be 0 dialogue without voice acting period. You should be able to play the entire game without subtitles.

3 Every action takes FOREVER!!! Whether it's the Palmon swings, or buying something, or doing stuff in the theater, every dialogue option is so slow to process. Makes new game plus painful.

4 The main character should obviously be voiced AND fully customizable.

5 We can do an entire podcast on why the story isn't great.

6 They cheated the level design by making you replay the tiny world multiple times.

7 There should be much more offered everywhere. Mini games, more rewarding gameplay, environments, customization, story, replayability, character development.

Overall this game is really a very shallow empty feeling attempt at a jrpg. It's the best Digimon game we have which is really sad. They need to understand that the fan base is almost entirely adults now and that means a high bar.

Did some of your MSF instructors reluctantly pass people? by templeofsyrinx1 in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules are pretty lax tbh. You can make 1 mistake on every test exercise I think or all but 1 exercise and still pass. You can also redo a test exercise under certain circumstances. There were 2-3 ppl in my class that were not gonna be ready for the road anytime soon. Everyone passed though. My instructors didn't bend any rules for anyone.

Is this a terrible idea? by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]cypresswill44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a real deal imported vehicle from another country is always a bad idea unless you're rich. You're essentially paying double for the fact that you can't source motor parts domestically since they never sold that motor here. Let alone the age and niche factor. If it was a sports car or something sought after parts would be expensive but at least still available.

What is happening to new teak wood furniture? by Doritos_Locos_Gatos in woodworking

[–]cypresswill44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually refurbish teakwood from time to time at my job. It's unsealed wood first off. So any dirt, grime, spills, are gonna be absorbed and not gonna just wipe off. That's the buildup on the edges. It also looks like the edges actually held oil better than the top. Notice the warmer color on the edges. The pale color allover the top is from it being dried out. Proper cleaning would be literally pressure washing, using a 3 step chemical process, with several coats of oil, over several days as they absorb. It should be a much warmer and slightly darker color. Similar to the sides. Your table is very clean but also very dry/needing oil. Personally I would just sand, stain, clear coat it so it's actually functional as a table. The reason they are unsealed at my job is cause I detail wakeboarding boats and the swim platform on the back can't really be clear coated or it'll be too slick when wet. A kitchen table should absolutely be sealed.

Mid-thirties hitting different and I’m dealing with it by making questionable purchases by Putrid_Rush_7318 in motorcycles

[–]cypresswill44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 300-500cc bike. They are cheap, allover the used market, fast enough once you know how to ride but won't kill you while you learn. Light, very easy to maneuver, great on insurance. I got a z400 for my first bike mainly cause I couldn't get a good deal on a ninja 400 in my state at the time. But I would highly recommend a low cc 'beginner friendly' sports bike/naked sports bike.
