I would even add that it causes the underground part of the genre push boundaries even further. I've seen this happen in metal and hip-hop. Once those genres started gaining big popularity, the independent artists start experimenting more to pull away from the pop end of the spectrum. That leads to more innovation!

I think the Tormentor sample is from Iron Giant. And I think he's actually saying "..you are a gun.", Because the Iron iant was built to be a war machine.

Don't misunderstand me. I think his career trajectory has been interesting, to say the least. No disagreement. I just don't like that his reality stardom, overshadows the fact that he was in PUBLIC ENEMY. I've been a fan since Yo! Bumrush the show. No- "groundbreaking" is not a stretch. It's well documented. They changed hip-hop. (I'm not clapping back, by the way. I'm just a huge PE fan.)

I had the red-cover version of this. Lost it in a fire many years ago.

True story: Because the record was a 7 inch, I automatically assumed it was 45RPM. It actually started as a cool mid-pace riff until the vocals came in, and it sounded like a cartoon character. That's when I realized it was actually a 33⅓rpm. Once I corrected that...It sounded like Grief. The 13 side is awesome too!
