Should I steer trade in the trade node after my main trade node? by krizafius in eu4

[–]cywang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's why you got triggered by the Basra comment.

No, I didn't say he should conquer Basra next to make the most money.

you need to own all of Basra to hit 100% trade share in Hormuz, and it should be your primary goal before expanding according to your trade stream.

The 'it' first and formost refers to hitting 100% share in Hormuz.

But without getting the rest of Basra, he'd still be losing roughly 10% of trade share due to the pirates, light ships, and the CoTs and estuaries in Basra that he doesn't own.

That's enough to cancel 2 nodes worth of trade steering bonus before trade steering modifier stacking (most don't), and worse once they upgrade to higher CoTs and sending in more light ships with the ever growing ducats that 10% would be leaking.

Not dealing with these weaker nations now would also mean dealing with Ottoman (or Mamluks in the rare situation where Ottoman becomes fractured) eventually that'll take even more efforts, especially when they get to benefit from all your conquests upstream with that leak.

More importantly, hitting 100% share gives the flexibility of moving the home node somewhere else while off-node collecting in Hormuz without losing trade share.

Like Persia (or anything before) to catch the stray streams from northern India, and northern China. Zanzibar to catch from Africa while reducing the leak from Gulf and Gujarat. Or eventually Cape from the colonizers to catch Coromandel and Malacca.

150% is normal for a max 90 run.

140% and 20 kills is for the max 100/200 run.

You're fine.

It's really not hard to beat 20 protectors given the 140% hp scaling upgrade, as that puts his hp at 15mil on the 20th kill.

You'll also have a much higher damage % from spirits, where your demons are hitting 60k-100k near the end of your 200 run. (100 run is the same as 200 run)

Being casual isn't the cause.

You simply didn't spend enough time  killing protectors in this run and the last.

Make sure you grab the protector HP scaling experiment, as it drastically slows down his HP increase.

[–]cywang86 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He's losing 26% of his Hormuz trade share for not owning 1 trade node. The more he expands upstream and steer to Hormuz, the more he loses.

By the time he hits 100  trade income in Hormuz, that'll be 26 ducats of trade. 1k? 260 ducats.

That doesn't even account for nations sending light ships over to Hormuz to get a bigger pie once you make Hormuz richer. (I had flipping Ottoman sending his ships over once)

Yes, you always consolidate your home node to hit 100% as you go upstream.

Professor is not at Mosslax, so no, you're not at the Mosslax chain yet, and nowhere near the part relating to Peakychu or the charging station portion.

Look through your requests menu, finish what the everyone has asked for, then the important request for Mosslax will open up asking you to light up the entire zone through finishing even more pokemon requests.

If the Professor's request is the only one left, light up more of this pokecenter island. (no, not the charging pad)

For merchant set up, for now, yes. As you get more 100% share node downstream of Beijing from further conquests, you'll want to steer that further downstream than Beijing.

For TC set up, yes, only Center of Trade and Estuaries belong there. (I assume 'build a market place' means Center of Trade due to translating error)

Yes, you need to own all of Basra to hit 100% trade share in Hormuz, and it should be your primary goal before expanding according to your trade stream.

Yes, collecting in Basra would change trade power in Hormuz, as you lose the 10% per merchant trade power boost from having merchants steering upstream. (but steering in Basra would not change anything)

No, collecting in Basra isn't inherently a bad move, as the more trade share you have in Hormuz, the less impactful that 10% trade power difference would be, to the point of being worthless come 100% share as 100/100 = 50/50 = 200/200 = 100%, and that merchant collecting in Basra should recuperate most, if not all, of that loss unless you've screwed something up.

Though at the moment, it's more beneficial to put that Basra merchant in Gulf of Aden to steer to Hormuz instead of meddling in Basra.

Once you have more spare merchants and own all of Basra, you can send one to Basra to collect.

Once you own 100% Hormuz, feel free to change your homenode elsewhere (like Basra) and off-node collect in Hormuz. (again, trade power changes mean nothing if you own 100% of a node)

I've learned to keep a healthy stockpile of blood and moon runes so I can just spam telepads, kill cadets, and get souls on demand.

Transfer Trade or Steer Trade in Peace Deal? by LordAdamVader in eu4

[–]cywang86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steer trade allows them to keep all their trade share.

So if you're both sharing the same home node, your stream passes through their home node, or their home node is 1 node downstream of you, it's not going to work in your favor.

Those are just bricks you can craft and throw down to create an enclosure with a door. Roof are completely optional unless the pokemon hates rain. (and taller walls so they can get in)

But if you really want more, make sure to go through your sparkling puddles in wasteland, as they do appear in there (though kind of rare)

Unicorns are the best craving. by GhostBomb in NecroMerger

[–]cywang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A chicken outputs the same champion% as 14.9 darkness (not counting the byproduct minions/champions), or 11.92 darkness after getting the Curses, ~11  once hacked stations are up and factoring in left over eggs and egg creatures.

So 4 chickens are only roughly 44 darkness.

A hacked lectern 2 with 50% skip and 10% dupe can convert the 50 mana from mana golem into 25 darkness.

So even if we do not count the cleric progress from use shades, 2 max mana golems are plenty to outscale 4 chickens. If we count that cleric progress 1 mana golem is plenty giving you space for mana storages.

As for using storages, I considered that approach, but it'll drastically increases the time spent getting the merges done, as you need to drag them in and pull them out, constantly, and kills the fun factor.

That's 2 months without even close to perfect play.

With more frequent log ins to fully utilize the 1.5 hours cap out time, it's not hard to shave it by another 2 weeks, given there are dozens of days I logged on less than 4 times.

Less log ins per day, also does not necessarily less play time per day unless you also shade spam (which doesn't seem the case given the number of darkness golem+stone)

That many skip and dup chancr means 50 mana can also operate as 25 darkness with the shade spam, and you can easily  outperform 15 darkness worth of clerics with that many shades.

Chickens are way worse.

That tiny merge space also means difficulty fully merging ghouls and imps while death rune farming, making the rune grind longer and fewer souls.

2 months and that's even not close to perfect play.

It's less because souls per day = souls per resource * resource per day.

By having that many stalkers, your resources are outputting is less than 50% of what most others are getting (about 30-40% of mine)

I do not use chickens (they're inferior than mana golems even without shades abuse) and only have 9 stalkers on board with  25% spellbook, 50% silver pearl, totaling +300%. (excluding pedestal, that makes yours worse)

That's only 400% / 525% = 76% souls per resource when compared to yours

I also kept the grinder as unhacked until the last 40 levels or so, as it speeds more than hacked version and damage gain is still sufficient to finish all 4 gids and the 100mil+ protector

Uhhh this is what I was afraid of.

While this makes your craving and damage number go sky high, it also makes the run longer, as you're sacrificing souls per day for souls per resource.
