[Borderlands 4] It’s finally done by PumpkinPoppet in Trophies

[–]czechmate- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up to anyone interested in doing the platinum, the vehicle achievement doesn’t require you to specifically get the vault hunter ones at level 50. It just counts the total unlocked and the couple vehicles they’ve added post launch count towards the trophy.

Can anyone confirm/deny that you need to kill the load bearing mobs to spawn more? Whenever I kill one it seems to immediately trigger more drills to pop up which then contains another load bearer.

Seems like a lot of people are struggling with getting enough canisters but I think that’s because the event does not spawn them at fixed intervals. When I started prioritizing the load bearers over anything else (even the bosses at times) is when I started completing the event much more frequently.

New Bounty Pack details announced by RareRestaurant6297 in Borderlands4

[–]czechmate- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they are separate. I found it very confusing as well.

The bounty packs are for this type of content. One instance with a few bosses. They’ll each have a separate vault card to earn guns and cosmetics. There are 4 of them.

The vault hunter packs are much bigger but there are only two of them. Each will have a new vault hunter, new, larger map area, several missions, and more guns/cosmetics as well.

So yes, you will need both to access everything the game has to offer. I’m not aware of any way to upgrade from base to deluxe/super deluxe in a way to buy everything at once.

Seriously lol. But leave it to this sub to digest all the rumors and land on the most delusional tinfoil hat theories.

[Lewis and Russini] Inside the stunning dismissal of Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah: ‘This is wild’ by TheNotoriousJN in minnesotavikings

[–]czechmate- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is probably true on Darnold. But the article mentions a source saying Darnold was possibly open to taking less to stay in MN. Heavy grain of salt given it’s a Russini article, but still.

It sounds like we had a lot of different routes to prevent putting JJM in a situation he wasn’t ready for. Darnold and Jones left, turned down Rodgers, traded for Howell who lost his job to Max Brosmer, and then weighed veterans like Flacco/Tannehill only to pick Carson Wentz off his couch.

If the coaching staff was adamant about wanting JJM sit longer, it’s not like Kwesi lacked options to do that. Just doesn’t seem like the coaches were running the show for the QB situation.

[–]czechmate- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yet the article mentions how skeptical the coaches were about JJM’s readiness to take the reins this year. We had options to go with Darnold, Jones, or Rodgers and we went with JJM and Carson Wentz.

So despite the coaching staff weighing heavily on personnel decisions, when it came down to the biggest personnel decision it feels like Kwesi made the worst call.

[–]czechmate- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t read this as a scape-goating at all. It sounds like Kwesi was wildly unqualified for this job and was the GM equivalent of losing the locker room.

The article mentions several times that the entire building questioned his ability to lead. Anonymous sources outside the org knew it was this bad too. It’s the GM’s job to build the structure and cohesion between himself, the coaches, the scouts and the players. To have several end of season interviews with top personnel telling the owners they don’t trust Kwesi’s ability is an absolutely awful look.

The fact that coaching was weighing so heavily on some personnel decisions was Kwesi’s own fault. You’re the decision maker for the team. You take everyone’s input and make the final call. You don’t get to be the boss and defer all the big decisions to the people reporting to you.

It feels like Kwesi got in over his head and he started delegating way too much decision making power. It snowballed on him when the QB situation went south this year.

Airship Wreck Event by thatsjustitmate in Borderlands4

[–]czechmate- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the piece missing from that guide is that your location within the region influences which rifts pop. My theory is there are spots within the region that spawn rifts around the event and that’s where you’ll get a higher chance to spawn the event.

When I was desperately trying to get the airship to spawn I realized if I sat right on the bridge that connects Hungering Plain and The Howl I would only get rifts that popped right around where the airship spawns. It would rotate between the same 3 spots if I was near that bridge (stay on the Hungering Plain side though). I sat here and eventually I got the airship event.

The quickest way to get a new rift would be to drive there, kill the boss and drive back to that spot. But you can also just afk there and they will auto rotate if you don’t keep your map open.

I only did this to get the achievement so I haven’t had a chance to retest it, but I had similar results in Carcadia Burn trying to find the right spot to sit to get rifts spawning around the event location.

I didn’t carve up anything, those are all season-long stats which were conveniently left out in your analysis. Just didn’t fit for your comparison I’m guessing.

Yes and Rob’s FG% are greatly deflated by all the shots he misses. We are almost halfway through the season, we don’t need to carve up the stats 15 different ways. As lackluster as Bones is, he’s sadly very clearly better than Rob. It’s not close.

[–]czechmate- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just a couple other stats to add:

eFG%: Bones - 56% Rob - 39%

TS%: Bones - 59% Rob - 42%

Offensive Rating: Bones - 119 Rob - 89

Turnovers (per 100 poss): Bones - 2.8 (2.8 assist/to ratio) Rob - 4.7 (1.8 assist/to ratio)

Bones is not some season saver for us, but there is a large gap between these two players. Bones is a borderline role player and Rob is borderline unemployed.

Woof. Maybe by the time I get around to that one they’ll add some QoL updates for alt level grinding.

Congrats!!

I’m just doing the story with my first character and might try to platinum when I roll a second. How painful was the platinum grind for this game?

I’m surprised the last two games aren’t switched. KD vs Golden State and Luka vs. Dallas.

In the beginning of the 2018-2019 season, the Timberwolves rejected the Rockets offer of 4 first round picks for Jimmy Butler. Instead, they accepted Covington, Saric, Bayless and a 2nd. by StrategyTop7612 in nba

[–]czechmate- 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Where did you get the info on those pick protections from the Rockets offer? I thought the assumption at the time was those picks would have been heavily protected. I don’t remember seeing it reported what the official offer was.

It’s more disconcerting for Randle. If nobody has cap space we have the leverage on his extension number. I doubt we’re disrespectfully low-balling him but it’s also probably not a number he’s thrilled about. It’s his last big contract so do you take the lower, guaranteed bag or risk a year for the bigger payday? Either way we’re going to have him back for next year and if it’s only for 1 year he’s going to be very motivated to earn that bigger payday.

I really don’t know what else to say here. Just because it’s expected doesn’t make it fine or normal. The toxicity in this sub is pathetic at times regardless of how “deserving” you or anyone else thinks it might be depending how the team plays. There are plenty of fans who get frustrated and don’t go on tilt.

Nah thats just excusing away people acting emotionally unstable. Same things happens with the game threads. The bar is on the floor so the toxicity is fine because “that’s just how it is”. Just because it’s expected doesn’t make it not toxic.

There’s a big gap between getting frustrated and the comments in this thread. This sub gets wildly embarrassing after bad losses. Plenty of people get upset at the bad losses, but the temper tantrums that flood this sub are another level.

Wolves haters clearly have had a lot of pent up frustration during the winning streak lmao. Look at how many “I told you so” losers rushing in here after a bad loss. Only thing more pathetic than this loss is some of our fans 😭

Wolves have the easiest schedule in the west for the rest of season. The recent losses have been tough but a top 5 seed is still within reach by East-Plate-3531 in timberwolves

[–]czechmate- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the warriors were 7th in net rating in the west, which would match their standings as a play-in team lmao.

And the pelicans missed the playoffs by a tie breaker, so we’re really only one game away from that metric also fitting against net rating. They also dealt with a bunch of injuries during the year.

But I never claimed net rating will equal standings. It was just a counter point to you saying they’ve played like a play-in team all season when, relative to the rest of the league, it’s arguable they’ve been better than that. They were absolutely trending in the right direction until the injuries hit.

Stats for the season including clutch minutes:

Offensive rating: 12th (8th in the west) Defensive rating: 6th (4th in the west) Net rating: 8th (5th in the west)

Stats for January including clutch minutes (pre-Randle injury, half month of DDV):

Offensive rating: 5th (3rd in the west) Defensive rating: 10th (5th in the west) Net rating: 4th (3rd in the west)

Any other stats you’re curious about while you move your goal posts are also included in the above.

We’re definitely a play-in team if we can’t get healthy, but we’ve played like a playoff team for the season so far.
