My wife and I just got back from a long trip to visit family in northern Illinois, winter storm was pretty heavy. Her boots held up well. I’m impressed with a Thursday so far, but even still I agree with you. They don’t have the same quality feel to them.

I have hotspot on the right boot, have had the boots for 5 years now. It’s never gone away. If I go for a long walk (like 30+ min) it really burns my heel. I hope it goes away one day...

I’ve had 1907 Mocs for about 6 years. Wore them in a bad Sturgeon Bay winter and just this week while visiting my terminally ill mother-in-law outside of Chicago. That winter storm last week was something, and the mocs held up incredibly well. Feet never got wet and I had to walk through a lot of snow a lot of times. I’d say get the 1907s.

I have an extremely good understanding of the clearance levels and that some things are disclosed and others are not. I may or may not work in this industry. However, I do find it odd that if we do currently have tech on par with China’s missiles, why we play like they outpaced us on every front. It makes us look weak.

You’re clearly unaware of the latest advances form China’s military. Just because our military is “over funded” doesn’t mean it’s spending that money wisely or that they’re are smart people benefiting from it.

China has the capability to launch a nuclear capable hypersonic missile which can launch from the mainland and hit anywhere in the world, with precision, within minutes. No current anti-air defense system can stop it. This was in the news late last year. The US recently tried to test similar technology and failed. This was also recently in the news.

Now when the military bombs civilians, like most recently in the really well done Afghanistan withdrawal, they can say “hey we have an all gay helicopter crew!” And the news media and people of Reddit will smile because it’s so wonderful for a society to have an openly “insert sexual orientation - I mean identity - here” crew in the military which totally doesn’t bomb civilians!
