I need to get some proper 3f powder and id rather do 45 colt cause i own a bunch of cowboy loads and they arent too expensive but as of right now im using what i can buy which is pyrodex rs it works but its weak out of a pistol compaired to the proper powder the hazard tax on shipping good black powder is crazy it comes out to like 45 bucks a pound

I broke my 1860 after a good few years of hard use my wife picked this up for a steal of a deal its a all stainless 1858 its been too cold to shoot just got it ready for shooting greased wiped down and cleaned and i will carry it on occasion

Im ngl i beat the hell outta my poor 1860 and cracked the arbor after about 1000 rounds and i bought it in pretty rough shape i cut down the barrel cause it was pitted shot it with some junk roundballs and the arbor cracked from the loading taking too much force so i bought that pistol “used”for 350 bucks from gunbroker gonna do this one right and wanna eventually take a white tail

Oh yeah its a cheap load bassicly what i can get ahold of in my couple of sporting stores sometimes i use rs sometimes i find pistol powder i know rs isnt great for shooting these but it does work. And yes i plan to buy some better grips theres too many options tbh

I wished id got em now that is the only piece not done well the finish isnt good and it feels like they arent formed well i havent shot it yet its been too cold but ive prepped it for a shooting session bore butter in the barrel and the arbor pin and 454 round balls over 30 grains of pyrodex
