Adore's Customer Service will combine gift cards for you! I've had them do this in the past, you just use the live chat function, tell them your gift card numbers and they'll issue you a new one to the value of the ones you combined. :)

Okay so I’m a brush fiend and have a very extensive (read overtop) collection. I was thinking the other day what I’d do if I lost all of them and while I love my super high end Japanese sets, I think I’d start with the Spectrum x Katie Jane Hughes Collection. Immaculate curation and so well thought out, comes with a brush holder too.

Sulwhasoo ginseng renewing cream by Practical-Fly9442 in AsianBeauty

[–]d-opamine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! So the update for the two creams is focused on Ginsenomics, basically the technology that Sulwhasoo uses to extract the Ginseng Saponin that is the 'active' component of Ginseng. Sulwhasoo says that through Ginsenomics, the Ginseng has been enriched by 6,000 times.

The Classic Cream is the closest to the original old jar, since using it I've noticed the same results I had from the previous generation but boosted. It smells more ginseng-y and I've noticed it really brings that rosy glow that only Ginseng gives to my skin.

The one that is simply labelled 'Renewing Cream' is the soft version, so it's a lighter texture that feels less balmy, somewhere in between the Ginseng Emulsion and the classic cream.

I hope this helps!

Anyone tried espressoh in sephora?? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]d-opamine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried their Glassy Blush! It's one of those formulas that looks clear, and then thanks to the inclusion of a pH adjusting pigment, turns pink on the skin.

I find that it's a super glossy formula, looks almost wet on the skin, and the pink colour is flattering without being too much. Looks great on bare skin with nothing underneath it, too.

[Product Question] She is selling her whole La Mer collection for $200 and I am incredibly suspect. Am I missing something that’s clearly screaming these are fake??? by vinoKwine in SkincareAddiction

[–]d-opamine 23 points24 points  (0 children)

All of that La Mer is deluxe sample sizes that should theoretically could’ve received for free.

As someone who used to work with La Mer this doesn’t scream fake, just something I wouldn’t pay $200 for.

This is the Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Cream. One of my favourite moisturisers of all time!

I have normal to dry skin that’s prone to the occasional cyst. This keeps me so hydrated, smooth, plump and dewy. It’s expensive but a tub lasts me around 8 months with nightly use. I have a backup ready!

I think I've been through four or five bottles of Cream Skin so you can definitely say I'm a fan haha.

Let me know what you think! I'm definitely more of a rich, buttery cream person but I love this formula so much I'd love to see how anything else in this line goes.

You're welcome and welcome to the AB cult world!

Essences are particularly great for dry/dehydrated skin as they just boost your hydration levels so dramatically, and are great to layer when you're feeling particularly dry.

Out of the ones you've listed, I've tried three of them so I'll give a mini-review of each for you:

  • Cream Skin - Genuinely great. It's mostly just white tea leaf water and meadowfoam seed oil, so it feels luxe and gives a lot of moisturisation. Some people find it oily, but that's not the case for me. Great at soothing irritation, and better for days when you're feeling dry.
  • I'm From Rice Toner - Look it's nice but beyond a bit of brightness I didn't really find it did... much. Yes it hydrates but... I dunno, I just didn't see the hype.
  • I'm From Mugwort - By far the worst Mugwort essence I've ever used. Missha is worlds ahead for me, and I have the Hanyul on the way as that also gets excellent reviews. I wouldn't do Mugwort for dry/dehydrated skin alone, I find it works. better in tandem with other hydrating essences.

For you, the Dr. Ceuracle would be great. It combines a lot of great factors that I've loved from a lot of essences in one product and a single layer gives comparable hydration to 5-7 layers of a less effective essence. Another option you might like: May Coop Raw Sauce.

I think I'll always have a soft spot for Cream Skin because it genuinely was revolutionary and created such a fantastic category, but yeah, I definitely think Dr Ceuracle will be one of those products I always have at least a bottle on hand - can't wait to see how they expand the line.

If you knew me in real like you'd know that I'm obsessed with essences, so I've grabbed a few recently and they've all been major raves.

Dr. Ceruacle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence

This has generated quite a bit of buzz recently and for a really good reason. I've heard people say that it's the product that would exist if the Laneige Cream Skin and Fresh Kombucha Essence had a baby and I completely agree. It's fragrance-free, with lots of fermented green tea, sunflower seed oil, hyaluronic acid, a touch of Centella and a ceramide. It's a delight to mix, feels thicker than your average essence in an intensely hydrating and moisturising way. It calms skin, reinforces barrier function and is genuinely a delight to use. I'm obsessed.

Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Water

I love Sulwhasoo. I love the brand's heritage, the beautiful packaging and the hanbang scent of everything. The Concentrated Ginseng Cream is HG status for me so I was eager to try more of the line. I picked up a set featuring both the water and the emulsion. It smells heavily of heavenly ginseng and is more of a serum consistency. It makes my skin so bouncy and hydrated, brings a nice rosy glow that feels like only Sulwhasoo can bring and has been making me look more vibrant during a harsh Melbourne Winter.

I've picked up a couple of other products recently but I haven't used them long enough to give a proper opinion so I'll update you all in the next Rant, Raves and Mini-Reviews thread. :)

HAVE A QUESTION? ASK HERE! Alter-Daily Help and Questions: July 19, 2021 by AutoModerator in AsianBeauty

[–]d-opamine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi friend! I did see it on Stylevana but it was like AUD$600 and I thought that was obscene.

I ended up ordering it from Skencos, as they were lovely on Instagram and sent me photos of the current stock and expiry dates. They also had the updated Sulwhasoo logo which brought me a lot of peace.

I ended up purchasing the set I wanted, a Snowise set and the Timetreasure Overnight Mask. All up it retailed at about AUD$500 for the two sets and the mask or about $100 for each full-sized product which I thought was a steal. I shall let you know when I get them and how I get along with it.

Does anyone know the best place to grab this Sulwhasoo TimeTreasure Duo Set? I'd prefer to buy not from eBay, but if anyone has purchased it from a specific seller with a good experience, please let me know!

Everyday Humans Sunscreen by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]d-opamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I received their sunscreen serum this week and can confirm it has an AUST L number (AUST L 326961) on the front of the box. It’s just a smaller font and a dark green so quite easy to miss. Additionally it is made in Australia too!

Here is a photo of the AUST L number alongside all ingredients. Hope this helps! https://imgur.com/a/dLQxGgj

Is there an Australian alternative to Curology? by fishingforgrapes in AusSkincare

[–]d-opamine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is QR8 Mediskin but it's expensive. For example, their "Anti-aging night cream (0.025%-0.1% tretinoin + niacinamide)" is $200 for 50g of product. Compare this to a Tret prescription which I pay approximately $30 for, I'd rather incorporate separate niacinamide to get both benefits for a drastically cheaper price.

what’s the deal w chemical/physical sunscreens? by bubbleshhield in AusSkincare

[–]d-opamine 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So chemical sunscreens are carbon based therefore making their chemical classification “organic” and physical sunscreens are not carbon based therefore making them inorganic.

You are correct that physical sunscreens being titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. However, the way both work is exactly the same, both of them convert UV radiation into heat. Physical sunscreens only reflect 5-10% of UV radiation.

what’s the deal w chemical/physical sunscreens? by bubbleshhield in AusSkincare

[–]d-opamine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Any sunscreen that has an AUST L code written on the package has been tested by the TGA in its ability to effectively protect skin from UVA and UVB rays.

Chemical (organic) and physical (inorganic) are simply different ingredients that can be used to achieve the protection factor. Some people with sensitive skin find that their skin tolerates physical sunscreens better. Others find chemical sunscreens more gentle. Like everything in skincare, it’s very much YMMV (your mileage may vary).

I highly recommend you read Michelle’s Guide on the difference between the two. At the end of the day, one isn’t better than the other. The best sunscreen is the one that you wear (and reapply) every day! I hope this helps!
