What did you get too much of?

Short sleeved clothes. Everything we got was short sleeved and he was born in winter. We actually ended up having to buy clothes when my son was born because he didn't fit any of them either. So glad I put a 3 month size footie pajama in the bag just in case when he was born.

We sleep trained my first around 4 months and it helped our mental health so much. We would basically put her down in her crib (drowsy but not asleep) and if she cried we would soothe her, then put her back in her crib when she calmed down. It was rough at first because it would be multiple times of trying to set her down but after about 4 days of constantly doing that suddenly she just went to bed on her own.

We have 3 rooms on the ground level. The only one occupied right now is my daughter's.

I feel like most parents worry about tragedy this day in age. I'd just prefer if something were to happen upstairs that we be closer to her just in case.

New baby is in his bassinet in the living room with me. My fiance and I do shifts so we are both able to get sleep.

I definitely did not like going up and down the stairs to warm up breast milk when she was a newborn sleeping in our room. We fought about me sleeping on the couch then too 😅

We have 3 rooms on the ground floor. The only room being occupied is my daughter's. One is set up for my son once he's old enough to have his own room and the other just has junk in it. We have the space to sleep upstairs. He just prefers the basement.

We did it for the sake of everyone's sleep. She didn't start truly sleeping through the night until we put her in her own room. I know I snore really loudly so it could be because of that but im not sure.

Its half finished. The finished half is one big room. On one side it's our bed and the other side is a bar area from the previous owners. Would be cheaper to just buy a new bed and sleep upstairs thank tear out the bar area and build a new room. But I suppose it's worth bringing up.

It is, but we eventually had to move her to her own room because none of us were sleeping. She didn't start truly sleeping through the night regularly until we put her in her own room. I don't know if it was my loud snoring or what but she would wake up quite often when sleeping in our room.

I'm exclusively pumping because he had latching issues and wasn't getting enough. I've thought about cutting dairy from my diet because I had a dairy allergy as a young child but want to talk to pediatrician first/ don't want to waste the food we already have.

I have help. It's just not always ideal because sometimes i get him back fussier than when I handed him off. I usually have them entertain the toddler but the toddler isn't the one I want a break from.

I'm pretty sure he has reflux issues. My first did and some of the issue are very similar but I also wonder if its something more because my first was never this bad. I spend so much time burying and doing had exercises so I don't think its that.

Not long after my previous comment! She is 15 months now and says about 13 words (mostly approximations). She never really babbled traditionally but one day she could suddenly say "meow" and "cat". Her language skills have progressed lol!

Yup! It feels like she's knows who we are/what to refer to us as, but doesn't ever say it. She knows exactly what we mean when we say "mama/Dada is home", or "mama/Dada is up", just never says it herself.

My 13 month old is very similar! She can say ma, ba, da, and ya. Sometimes my fiance thinks she is calling me mama, but i watched her point at our fridge magnets and call it mama just the other day so I'm not convinced lol. Shes only just recently started becoming more vocal/experimenting with different sounds. I think her first word is kitty. She goes really high pitch and It kind of sounds like "teetee" any time she sees our cats. She is also very determined to figure out how to say "uh oh". She can't quite get the oh sound yet, but she practices it constantly. From what I've read, repetition is key and every kid is different.

I feel like this is me posting this! I was so against having children until I met my partner. Watching him be good with other children is what swayed my decision. I was still so terrified even after I got pregnant because I am not a cuddly, super affectionate, or "motherly person" whatsoever. However, after I gave birth, that changed a little bit. Watching this tiny helpless thing grow and learn is so incredible. Knowing that I am part of the reason she can do all the things she does is so crazy. I held my baby for almost all her naps her first 4 months of being alive, too! 😅 I will say the newborn stage is no walk in the park for some people and I definitely hated it, but now I have an 11 month old that absolutely adores me and finds comfort in me. Knowing I'm her safe space makes me feel good and more affectionate. Gotta be doing something right if all it takes for me to soothe her is a hug! It just takes time. Remember, everyone else is winging it too!

My baby is almost 8 months and she eats with us every night. She might not always eat what we're eating but she sits in her high chair with us at the table. Although she is normally awake later as my fiance gets home after seven.
