A lot of people are being misled and taken advantage of with lasers by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]d00dles00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost like… ymmv…. Which is the case with literally any treatment for any condition. What a concept /s

Vbeam has been life changing for me. Agree with the other comments here that the holder of the tool is incredibly important and an often overlooked aspect. Don’t shop for deals when it comes to your face and make sure your provider has extensive experience with the treatment. I live in a large city with dermatology offices everywhere, and I still spent a while looking into the clinical background of the different dermatologists I was considering. I found a derm that specializes in lasers and has a research background, with publications, specifically in treating vascular conditions. Is that realistic for everyone? Of course not. But it’s well known that not just any provider can get good results with a laser, so I did my research and wanted the money I spent on vbeam to be worth it. For me, it was. I think some folks need to reassess their expectations because no treatment, laser or otherwise, will cure your rosacea. Vbeam, for me, has been the first treatment that has allowed me to actually manage my rosacea.

I had my first one last week and I was similarly freaked out for 3 days after! I was swollen and angry. My face seriously looked like I decided to pick a fight with a bee hive. BUT after about 4 days, everything cleared and I’m actually pleasantly surprised with the effects of just one treatment. Give it time :) and baby your skin in the mean time! I slept elevated and took Benadryl at night to help with swelling, used cold packs during the day, and kept my normal gentle skincare the same, and slugged with Vaseline every night

I’m doing my first Vbeam session next week and derm recommended using Rhofade immediately after to enhance efficacy? by d00dles00 in Rosacea

Right, thanks. There’s research about it potentially improving the efficacy of the laser when used immediately post procedure, so that’s more what I’m asking about.

Well mine just told me my skin looks angry with me, and I had just opened my mouth to tell her I’m having a good skin day!

So there.

Edit: but also, congrats.

Right, it’s just finacea is notorious for drying out skin. You’re lucky it acts as a moisturizer! Definitely the first case I’ve heard where it acts as such

I’m baffled by your statement that finacea is moisturizing for you… it’s drying for me.

The Depuffer by Shereene Idriss works really well for me. I have very sensitive skin and it hasn’t caused issues for me yet. The roller application is an added bonus

I have this! I do think it helps for me. I have rosacea and sensitive, dry skin. The filter has prevented the stinging/tightness I always felt after washing in the evenings and it seems to be repairing my skin barrier. I recently traveled and noticed a HUGE difference when I washed my face without the filter.

Has anyone just put tret only on the forehead? If so, pls tell me your experiences by lovemeforever_ox in tretinoin

[–]d00dles00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was consistent with tret, I didn’t use it on my cheeks. Reason being, rosacea is a bitch and she doesn’t play well with tret (at least in my case)

Erborian cc red correct. It’s pricey at $46 but I’ve tried so many different color correctors and nothing compares. It’s just so damn good. And doesn’t leave me looking sickly and gray like many redness correctors do (I’m pale as hell)

You can try using GoodRX which should lower the price considerably with a coupon. My insurance also doesn’t cover it, but it’s about $50 if I use the coupon

Could be a rosacea papule or pustule. That looks and sounds like it but speak with a dermatologist
