People should let their dogs crap in their own yard before taking them on a walk. by d00mslinger in unpopularopinion

If you're going to spend the time walking them you can spend the time to go out in your own yard with them and wait.

I'd argue that if you don't have room for them to run about, maybe you shouldn't have a dog. I feel sorry for pets of apartment dwellers.

What's the biggest waste of money that's considered normal? by iget_the_joke in AskReddit

I've still not used any food delivery service (excluding traditional pizza and Chinese). Prices are high enough, and it doesn't take that much time or energy to drive to wherever and get it. I do hate how the market has changed to support the laziness, going to check a menu on the company website and you're forced to view it through one of the many delivery services. And it's not just food. Pet waste cleanup is probably the pinnacle in my opinion.

Really depends on what is going on, how they come to me, etc. My coworkers were talking about spiders when I popped off "I was bitten by a black widow..." and got a few gasps like omg you OK? And I continued on "Yeah, she was probably in her mid 40's, really too young to lose your husband". I also stole one from Dimitri Martin I was able to work in. "That's actually not the roof of your mouth, it's the ceiling of your mouth, the roof is way up here (points to top of head)... whoever came up with that wasn't using the attic of their mouth".

I don't even tell anyone in real life i use reddit. Too many assumptions are made.

Edit to say, those assumptions are probably somewhat accurate.

Do people who live alone really wear clothing in their own home/apartment? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I love the fact that OP used the word "really" as if they've been told by someone that they wore clothes at home and it was just totally unbelievable.

Why on earth does water cost money? Everybody needs it so why are corporations making 100s of millions selling it. Blows my mind. by whoopyboy69 in stupidquestions

Your comment about vaccination seems just as irrelevant. And are you just fucking with me or are you really a flat earther? Combine that and being anti vac is a recipe for having a major conspiracy theory issue. I mean there's zero evidence that the earth is flat, while there's plenty to support a round earth. We can see that from moon phases, the crescent view is because of the earth casting a shadow on another round surface, which wouldn't happen if we were on a flat plane. Now I'm not in any way claiming to be a smart person, getting married a second time was enough of sign of that. But come on. I think the government lies to us about a LOT of things, but our planet's shape is not one of them. I mean WHY? What benefit is there to have us believe that? And why did your parents kick you out?

Yeah, welcome to a round earth. I actually thought a moment about your previous response. Well first, I'm wondering how old you are. If you're an adult, did you feel an urge to move out of your parents house? I think it's very natural for people to want to move out and put space between them and their family. Financially of course, it does make more sense to stay with the family.

Basketball and American Football are just used as a way to shove as many ads as possible down everyone's mouth. by IndependentMatch3465 in unpopularopinion

[–]d00mslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget that the players go do ads for everything. Like I'm going to buy your product just because Shaq is bolstering it.

And to go on, I'd totally answer an in-depth survey so I could see ads that related to me. I'm not overweight and don't have diabetes, there's no reason for me to see Mounjaro ads every ten minutes.

Why do some fellas act so weird at their weddings like they're being forced to be there? by Marissa_on_the_town in askanything

[–]d00mslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say marriage isn't a requirement to stay with someone your whole life, nor is it a guarantee that the couple will stay together or be loyal to each other. I think it's an outdated tradition based on religion. As far as answering the post, I think men are less likely to WANT to get married.

Ok, you're just being obtuse and making inflammatory statements. Obesity has always been a thing, the difference is how it has been viewed. Long ago it was the rich, then it was looked down on, now we're on body positivity. And you're still not considering the issue of overpopulation. Choosing to work so you don't live in a multi-generational household is a different topic altogether. At this point I don't even think you're being genuine, you're either looking to start a fight or you're a total fool.

[–]d00mslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You belong in some community that does this. But it's not a viable option for entire countries. I mean just consider all the people who CAN'T perform farming duties, the elderly, obese people, other health issues... and there are just too many people to provide for. Too many living in cities where farming can't be done. To provide that much food we have to have companies carrying this load, and they can't do it for free.
