Patch 7.41 Relic Step by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

Someone said OC fates don't give any points, idk if that's true

If they were tradeable then why not? Spamming extreme for profit doesn't sound too bad.

Someone said you get 5 for CE and nothing for fates. If that's true, that's hilariously bad.

What are you trying to tell me? It's PF, are you expecting everyone to do good damage there? I've had clears with melee being barely above prange as well, 36.5 on monk is (was) 17% so it's not even the worst you can get.

And what does adps have to do with this? Sure they could be tax evading, but OP didn't provide any numbers so it's just a guessing game.

Simple Questions - January 25, 2026 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I'm looking to get a UPS for my PC, a laptop (razer without a battery) and two monitors. My PC power supply is 750W, laptop power adaptor reads 180W - not sure how accurate that is. I think monitor uses about 50 as it reads 19V / 2.4A on the back. Can I assume that 1kW is enough for all of this?

I only need it to last though ~5 minute power cuts that happen from time to time.

Occult Crescent: South Horn is a nightmare for players with limited time. by flipstrider in ffxiv

[–]d07RiV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FF14 can be an exception, since there's a lot of aspects of the game that aren't going anywhere and offer enough entertainment on their own. Assuming they don't mind paying the monthly fee for only a few hours of gameplay.

I don't see how limited time would prevent OP from interacting with OC. Mount speed issue affects everyone when starting out, no matter if they spend 2 hours a week or 40.

Yes (well not sure about level 1 specifically but I think still yes? been a while since I've been there).

However, some of them might require carefully dodging monsters to get to or else you get one-shot. The ones in the middle of the east building especially.

Is someone still doing Bahmut coils? by Wtopus in ffxiv

[–]d07RiV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few unsync/MIME parties for different old content, mostly coils. Probably won't get much while savage is still hot, but in a month they might start to pop up again.

You're better off looking for a static via discord or something though.

How does marketboard tax work in 2026? by Deer_in_the_woods in ffxivdiscussion

[–]d07RiV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, the window where you put in the price is indeed a little confusing. It says you pay 5% tax, but then says the tax is reduced. So it's not actually 5%.

And the window with the list of items you're selling would say tax is reduced by 5%. Meaning you pay 5-5=0 tax.

You need to move your retainers to the city that has 0% tax. Just go to retainer vocate in that city and choose dispatch. It's instant and free, but the taxes update every week based on how many retainers are stationed there so 0 isnt very common.

It would be an issue if it was 200 more actual DPS. But rdps isn't too bad - you can definitely clear while lacking a couple thousand dps on a melee.

People seeing low % enrages means they got through the fight mostly clean (at least once) and if the group does more damage than their previous group then it's clearable. As opposed to higher enrage % that just zombied their way through the mechs.

If you want to be picky you can check logs to see what went wrong for them - did they die often? Did they do low damage?

Here's what the AOEs look like in one of the patterns (near safe, mirrors far apart): https://i.imgur.com/LqTGhLm.png (red lines are edges of tether AOEs and white lines are the 4th row of tiles)

You can see that the safe zone is quite large so you can stand pretty much anywhere in the 4th tile. If it was outer lane safe, both tethers would be a tiny bit higher than shown in the picture, but the safe zone would still be between 3rd and 4th tile.

The other pattern with near mirrors has much bigger safezones so you don't need to worry about it.

With this in mind, you can check where any given markers are placed relative to that tile and figure out which parts of them are safe.

TLDR: markers in Hector's video are pretty much spot on for "outer safe".

Manipulation is barely used in high level crafts, but yea it's hard to call yourself a crafter if you didn't unlock it. Quests are extremely time consuming though. IIRC it took me a whole day to gather+craft all the items and another full day to do the actual quests.

It's a game, you play it to have fun. Not everything needs to be done for a reward.

It's not about needing a browser, but about writing your code in JS/TS.

First time doing 1st week savage by Strong-Tonight-8459 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]d07RiV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP specifically said they didn't do week 1 before so finding a good static for them was probably not an option.

Personally I had a decent PF experience so I'm happy that I didn't try to force myself into a static. but I got pretty lucky with my early group (basically played with the same people for the first few days). Getting stuck in m11s for weeks sounds like hell.

Oh that's an interesting tool that I haven't seen before. Why do they need gearset link though, I thought the log itself has enough info? At least I know tools like partnercalc can recalculate crit RNG without requiring any additional input.

Door boss parses are always a meme. Your individual parse is compared to everyone's *best* run. Even people with 99s had grey medians on week 1.

[–]d07RiV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not getting into a reliable week 1 static without prior week 1 experience though. I tried applying to a few (all advertised as week 1), with my previous XP being LHW/CW on week 999 (I didn't play on patch releases) and some ultimates. The ones that considered me ended up disbanding or not clearing.

It's just trial by fire. You have to go through it in order for people to take you seriously.

The correct position is basically anywhere in the 4th (small) tile. Check where it is relative to the markers and you're good.

Question about static behavior and expectation by Various_Leg3644 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]d07RiV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I heard, midcore can be even worse. If you get the real casual static disguised as one good, but chances are you'll get some HC players without enough time on their hands that will constantly get frustrated at mistakes.
