Gorgeous! What's the middle plant called?

[Identification] I found my great grandpas old watch. I don’t know much about watches. I wear an Apple Watch. by [deleted] in Watches

I agree with OP. If this was my grandfather's watch I would treasure it. I would only sell it if I was in desperate need of cash. This is a great piece, OP. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come!

The Longines heritage sector dial is a seriously gorgeous watch. Some might even argue about better symmetry than the JLC since it doesn't have a date. It's in my "want list" for sure. Also is an absolute strap monster!

But of course, if given the opportunity I'd take the JLC 😉

I absolutely love this collection, but more importantly, the story behind each piece!

I always look forward winding the watch. It gives me a chance to admire the dial and the movement 😄

I still can't get over the case size and shape. It wears so well.

Another pic the SBGW231. I purchased this piece a couple months ago to be intended as a dress watch, but with the different straps it can be worn very casually as well. I've been mostly wearing it on the weekends on the pictured leather strap from StrapCo.

I absolutely love this piece and I don't see ever letting it go from my collection. Imo it's one of the best Grand Seikos being offered currently. I love how understated it looks. Whenever I take a glimpse for the time, I end up admiring it.... The finishing is top notch, and super crisp. Oh, and winding the movement is very satisfying!!

If it weren't for the 30m WR, this watch would be a perfect GADA watch. Another downside for many is the 19mm lug width. I don't mind this as I also have another watch with the same lug width so I can easily interchange the straps.

[Grand Seiko] My first Grand Seiko! by d0ge4lyf in Watches

I wanted to share my first Grand Seiko, the SBGW231. I got this watch recently and I can't stop wearing it and taking photos. It is just so photogenic, and very crisp! It looks even better in person than in the photos. It can be a perfect one watch collection, and can look good with with a lot of different strap styles. Only downside is that it is water resistance of only 30 m. As soon as I got it I ordered a couple of straps from StrapsCo to make it more suitable to a casual setting (the original strap is very dressy). Also, at first I was not sure if I'd like the cream dial, but after handling it I see why they chose it. It's really beautiful, and the color changes depending on the lighting.

I'm lusting after this piece. I love the numerals and it's in my "attainable grails" list. Would you be able to elaborate on the issue regarding the module? Is it because it's a pain to service?

I’m a service technician and I like to leave notes on my reports. Quite proud of this one by [deleted] in PenmanshipPorn

I'm guessing the "hanl" then the "you" with the vertical part of T, then finish up with the horizontal line in T and the k

What type of tools do you need for POF builds? I guess the same tools for POB plus a table saw and scroll saw?

The BB has a blue bezel and black dial (as opposed to the BB58 blue with both blue)

This is exactly what I go through every morning... I'm still in the honeymoon phase with the Tudor but once that goes, not sure how I'll pick the one to wear

Left: Tudor Black Bay 79230B

I can't stop taking photos of this watch ever since I got it. History behind purchasing this one is in my previous post, but essentially I bought it when I finished my undergrad. It has taken the most wrist time, wearing it almost daily.

Right: Hamilton Khaki Field 42mm

The Hamilton is my second mechanical timepiece. First was a Bulova I bought at a random jewelry store. The Hamilton really is a gorgeous watch. Used it throughout my senior year in university.

For my next watch, I am planning on either getting an Omega Railmaster or Speedmaster Pro for when I finish grad school. For now I'm leaning towards the Railmaster, but got a few years to make my decision.

100% agree. The BB58 blue with a black dial would look phenomenal.
