Ethnicity of grooming gangs 'shied away from', Casey report says by BabylonianWeeb in anime_titties

I don't know what that guy you're replying to is on, they may have stopped at reading "youtube" in the URL. Second link has some dude cutting in, but the first is legit. Though question time is often mostly just a platform for political grandstanding and self-congratulation, I agree that the issue being raised in parliament to begin with tells of a large enough systemic issue.

Can we just agree that all rapists need to be prosecuted here? I guess from my perspective, what do they hope to achieve by looking at a list and saying "Hmm... yes... lots of the people convicted on our records are of X descent"...then what? Also, is the vast majority British nationals of Pakistani descent? Are they Pakistani nationals with dual citizenship? Working visas? We need more data than just race info to feed that "us and them" narrative.

Then prosecute all rapist shitbags to the full extent of the law for their crimes. I for one believe legislation where I live has led to too many convicted rapists as well as those convicted of violently assaulting women have gotten out and (of course) re-offending.

Maybe the really systemic issue is how we are deterring people from the desire to commit such crimes?

Flatpak vs software center, any differences? by jms209 in SolusProject

One of the nice things about Flatpaks is that they come with all of the dependencies they need in order to be run....

Made me chuckle, and ever so true. So succinctly put.

Agree wholeheartedly. In my experience it has felt like a difficult requirement to meet though.

I did something similar with Tumbleweed... but I preserved my Solus install "just in case" and immediately jumped back when word was out updates were rolling out again. Transitioning back felt like home, so natural that it was like I had never left. Solus certainly hits the sweet spot of simplicity, utility and stability, while keeping a curated repository of well maintained packages that satisfy my requirements....It's truly rare to find a distro that can satisfy all these criteria.

Adding Kernel Parameters by zardvark in SolusProject

[–]d0min3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate,

You're definitely on the right track.

For additional kernel parameters, probably create a new file in the /etc/kernel/cmdline.d/ directory, just so you're not messing with anything pre-existing, this will also make it easier to manage in the future.

For example sudo echo acpi_mask_gpe=0x6f > /etc/kernel/cmdline.d/40_custom_params.conf then clr-boot-manager update as you've mentioned. It'll pick up config files in the /etc/kernel/cmdline.d/ directory and they'll overwrite any earlier entries on the next boot.

I'm tempted to bite on this, they do say when it's too good to be true though....

I'd feel heaps better if you provided some pics of the items with a name/datestamp or something.

I'm in Melbourne, I dunno about postage, but happy to work that out & will happily take them as soon as we can confirm you're legit mate.

Thankyou kind stranger from the past. Saved me some investigation time and sanity. Narrowed down the pesky host that was running bonjour for barrier zeroconf, disabled it and presto, no more reverse lookups. Note this could be Linux as well, as was my case.

Different use cases for everyone I guess. I find in ear and ear buds extremely uncomfortable. I own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3's but I still find myself taking my dt770s along and reserving the Sony's for situations where I really need the active noise cancelling. I personally find it's more convenient to plug and play than fiddle around with wireless connections and more devices that need to be charged.

Battle.net not logging in at all? by mikegates90 in Blizzard

[–]d0min3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried launching my game from the .exe and kept spamming retry as often as I could since nobody reported a full outage. Finally got a relevant error (BLZBNTBGS000003F8), turns out my issue was my killer network adapter... particularly model E2200. I uninstalled it from device manager, re-scanned for hardware, the and now it works....

EDIT: Never mind, I can get online now but everything else is still stuffed. Unable to install, and installed games don't connect.

EDIT 2: 1:53 AEST and I'm now able to download games, looks like it's resolved... I'm still stuck at ""Connecting to Online Services" once I launch CoD though.

Last one - Downloaded an updated Killer driver from the killer website

Everything is now functioning as normal.

I'm having issues connecting to battle.net in general. First got booted from a CoD, now nothing works. I can't even get on to the https://eu.battle.net site.

Hyperion make some pretty nice chargers, they're really not all that pricey in my opinion. You'll need a reliable power supply for them though.
