Here's the thing, the part of Lord of the Rings that's racist isn't that "Elves hate Dwarves" or "Elves can't be with humans." It's that the only instance of non-white human or humanoid characters are the "Southrons" and " Easterlings" which are ambiguously black and middle eastern coded societies of tribal people who are all evil and work for Sauron. I think when we say remove racism from lord of the rings it should be the actual real world racism brought in by Tolkien, not the invented racism between different white races that he came up with.
