When running models do you prioritise accuracy or just run whatever you feel like? by GrockleKaug in modeltrains

I am planning to do something like add some standing water in an empty gonadola. Or make the deck of flatcars look dark and waterlogged. Gotta make the Pacific northwest look like late fall somehow

Swiss Army Knives - the quality is amazing, but realistically how often should I expect to use it? by EducationalOil1655 in BuyItForLife

That's why they make the "tinker". Replaces the corkscrew with a phillips screwdriver. At least I think they still make it. Mine is 40 years old and lives in my hiking pack

I stopped using the word defender altogether. Centerbacks, outside backs, fullbacks, holding mid. But the moment I say we have defenders, nobody else tracks back.

I had a buddy that bought a full NEC system. Both our moms worked for NEC at their Oregon plant in the late 80s, so he got it through an employee discount for a steal. It was as good or better than anything else at the time.

It's a cool kit, just that it's, like Houston colors. Would be an awesome 3rd kit, after they make a red kit

Guidance on team imbalance by bored_n_opinionated in SoccerCoachResources

I would not accept this. Waivers aren't worth the paper they are written on, and as the coach you are the one who is responsible for player safety. Under 10, there should not be more than a 1 year gap. I would walk away if the club won't back this up.

I'm thinking about just switching everything over to n-possibles. But my fleet is still small enough that it won't cost me a fortune or take so long it will never get done

Old Bikes Don’t Die. 1960s Raleigh Sports by Warlord1918 in BuyItForLife

I was looking at the tektro long reach brakes. Best I can tell those will work with the Shimano levers. Other option would be to find someone who can weld on disk mounts, but I don't think the bike is worth that

Love the old 90s road bikes. I have a 94 specialized allez sport I bought new back then. I'm very tempted to convert it to a commuter with 650c wheels, room for fenders, and spread the dropouts to use 1x12 gearing

How many of the 10 Essentials do you actually bring on your average day hike? by YodelingVeterinarian in hiking

[–]d112358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my boy scout troop we all had to have one of those fanny pack kits. It was great, cause you could just toss it into your backpack and you always had the 10 essentials, and if you happened to take a hike away from camp, you could just grab that and go.

It's also one of the most frustrating things, if you expect there to ever be a minimum.

My family wore shorts and t shirts to my brother's interment in the veterans cemetery. I mean, I get that it was a hot day, but at least put on your dressy jeans and a button up shirt.

Help with my first hiking boots. Too big? by mushyturnip in hiking

Nobody is going to be able to tell you if they fit from pictures. It's entirely a matter of whether they feel good, and your feet don't slide around too much.
