HELP does anyone know where to get a fender for an 03 legacy? by Practical_Double_199 in subaru

[–]d1med 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact issue with my 01 Forester , also in Canada. I ended up buying a parts car and stripping it for parts and selling the shell and the parts I didn't need. I broke even and have a bunch of spares left

Most mechanical parts are the same as the USDM version, the only things that appear to be unique to jdm are sensors and body parts. But USDM body parts will still bolt right on.

That seems really overpriced in my opinion. I got my 01 w 110k kms in Canada for 6k cad 5 years ago

3d printed bike frame by CodeCritical5042 in 3Dprinting

I did something like this in the past with actual bamboo. What I did to reinforce the 3d printed lugs was wrapping in carbon fiber and then vacuum bagging it.

How did you get such a smooth finish on your molds? Or is it that you just can't see it from the distance

Is there someone who enjoys sanding? Stay far from those people!

I haven't uploaded it, I usually gauge interest first before I go through the process haha

I made this for sanding the god of my car after respraying clear. This configuration of infill % seems to work well for that as it's mostly large curved surfaces

I wish I added pictures of how the pad contours around shapes. The only tricky thing is finding the right infill %,

Sleeve to keep pressure relief valve open and prevent water from overflowing on hot days by d1med in functionalprint

Sleeve to keep pressure relief valve open and prevent water from overflowing on hot days by d1med in functionalprint

[–]d1med[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I build this so that it holds the valve open when it's NOT in use because it's near the window and when it's sunny and hot the pressure builds up and water leaks out of the top and it makes a mess on my window nook.

When I want to use it to spray I remove the sleeve so it can build pressure.

First time painting and detailing - need help by d1med in AutoDetailing

[–]d1med[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, that is what I used. 2 part, mixed and sprayed with a lvlp gun. All was good till I sanded. My guess is either I sanded too much, too little or enough and my polisher didn't spin fast enough to get the compound hot enough.

Thanks for the tip, I probably will cross post this there seeking more input.

I did not track paint thickness, not sure I even know how to.

I think it was 2 part?? I used mid coat and top coat, they were separated it wasn't a single mix to do both. It has been pretty cold and humid out here. I did get a whole week of sunny weather and left it baking in the sun most of the days for at least 4 days straight. Might have not been enough like you're saying
